What a View! COZY! just right home!
If you want to be on the beach, In a beautiful country side, with tons of things to do... this is it. Loved getting up in Moring and saying hi to the neighbors cows and sheep! AND the food there in Clifden! O'Malley's has the BEST fish n'Chips ever! Shopping was Great in Clifen. Got to go to the Connemara pony sale! It is in the country.. which is perfect for my gang. Just an awesome cozy place! We were there 25 days and loved having it as a home base. Owner was awesome! and very helpful. House was spotless. which a big deal for me.
Oct is the END of their season there in Ireland, so lots of great deals. Weather was nice in 55 degrees - rain of course :) it Ireland! - does get breezy there so bring a scarf. Open market in Galway on sat was amazing... along with the Fresh Market in Cork! the Cliffs of Moher were amazing and the Giants Causeway was so cool. Almost everyone takes a CC/Debt card. We rented a car and had no issues. Very polite drivers there. Roads are VERY narrow! Be sure if you are driving to get parking stub when you park - they will give you ticket... ANYWAY - Awesome place to stay - stay at lest a week and really enjoy the place.
Fabulous holiday in this beautiful cottage
My husband and I and our two dogs had an amazing week in Keeraunmore Cottage.
Ollie's email communication was prompt and friendly and we were cheerfully greeted and shown around by Anne (his lovely mother). Anne kindly left us homemade soda bread and muffins too. Yum! Thank you Anne!
The cottage is very comfortable and has everything needed for a holiday stay. The kitchen was especially well-equipped for a vacation property, which we appreciated greatly since we prefer to eat at home. Nearby Clifden (less than 20 min drive) has three excellent grocery stores, with great prices. Even the Mace store in the little village of Ballyconeelly has a surprising selection (although a bit more expensive).
In addition to the remote location (very private), rugged surroundings and friendly neighbouring sheep and cows, the location is great for exploring. Clifden, Roundstone, Inishbofin Island, and the awesome "12 Bens" are easily accessible and great places for picnics and day trips.
An extra special treat for us, especially for our two water-loving retrievers, was the spectacular huge, uncrowded sandy beach at the bottom of the hill right near the cottage.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this rental. Thank you for your hospitality Ollie and Anne!
Thank you Leoni, delighted you enjoyed the holiday - hopefullly see yourself and Kaja in Keeraunmore again soon!
If you want to literally get away from it all, this is the location and property for you! Quiet, sandy beaches on the doorstep. Just beautiful!
Thanks you Nicola, hopefully see you in Keeraunmore again soon!
This home is true to its listing. It was cozy yet spacious; quite comfortable and well appointed. It was quiet, private and we felt safe during our stay. The stove was much enjoyed. We did appreciate the washer and dryer during our two week stay. Wished there was WiFi.
Communication was quick and responsive. Check in/ out was fast and simple.
Great spot to be in Ballyconneely!
Thank you Robert - hope to see you in Keeraunmore again soon!
Incredible Beautiful Cottage
I recently had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful holiday cottage (arrival on the 23rd Feb). From the outset, I was blown away by the views and the surroundings, its an incredible location, its really a hidden gem. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and cosy, such a homely feel. One of the highlights for me was the home baking on arrival, this is really the Irish hospitality at its best! The open fire really emphasiss the cosiness. The views are breathtaking, the garden is quite large and there are some lovely views of the mountains and the sea, very rustic west coast. The area itself is lovely and the locals are very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend a stay here!
Thank you for your kind words, delighted you enjoyed our home!
Received a warm welcome from the owner Ollie his mum had baked homemade bread which was delicious. The cottage is lovely and warm ,unfortunately the mattress in the main bedroom is in need of replacement as it's extremely uncomfortable ,the electric showers both require maintenance as the water pressure is dismal and the heat setting needs attention. The view from the cottage was disappointing as you cannot see the ocean or the beach from the cottage windows . The access road is quite difficult to navigate as it very uneven and steep. The property is only accessible through a private farm road. I recommend new pictures of the property be taken to reflect the actual view from the cottage windows and surrounding area.
Thank you for taking the time to write about our house, I am sorry to hear you were disappointed, if you let me know there was an issue with the water we would have had the plumbers out to fix it immediately. This is now resolved.
We have also installed a new mattress following your feedback.
However, the house is surrounded by sea and mountain views, the remote location offers a superb vantage point.
