Estia is named after the gooddess "Hestia" of ancient Greece who represents family order and warmth. Located in the village Pagkalochori, just 20 min far from Rethymno town, the house is surrounded by olive trees (the ultimate symbol in Greek myths), lemon, orange, tangerine and several other types of trees, fruits, aromatic local herbs (such as “diktamo”) and flowers. In a spacious and well-cared garden which gives the sense of freedom and comfort our field could easily be considered as a real Cretan nature jewel! The house is ideal for relaxing, unforgettable holidays for you, your family or friends, with a comfortable outdoor area for children and chances for viewing exceptional sunsets!

Villa Estia is located in a privileged area just 1.5 km far from the beach, the nearest shops, mini markets, taverns, pharmacy etc. and 20min far from Rethymno town.

Villa Estia is 75 square meters and offers accommodation for up to 4-5 people. The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 fully equipped kitchen, 1 full bathroom (bathtub and shower).
The rooms are airy and sunny during the day with large balconies that will give your holiday a distinctive feeling of comfort and well-being. The large veranda with table and chairs will invite you to enjoy your meals outdoors in the fresh air. You can have a drink by the pool and sunbathe among the olive groves and the flowers. There is also a free parking space for your car.
The house has view to the pool, garden and countryside and offers such a tranquil, relaxing and dreamy escape to Crete so you could easily think you are in a small paradise on earth!

We spent two wonderful weeks in one of three houses that Elia rents out. We received a warm welcome, even though we arrived late at night. There is a spacious garden with a pool, olive trees, lemons, oranges, tangerines, figs and other plants. The house is well suited for four people and has everything we expected. It is quietly located just outside the village of Pagkalochori. If something was missing or the internet went down, our hosts helped quickly and efficiently. We would come back at any time. :-)

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in dieser Unterkunft! Die Anlage ist wunderschön gestaltet, mit Oliven- und Orangenbäumen überall. Es ist offensichtlich, dass die Besitzer viel Liebe in die Pflege des Gartens stecken. Das Haus selbst ist modern und gemütlich, mit einer gut ausgestatteten Küche. Wir haben jeden Morgen auf der Terrasse gefrühstückt und abends dort gesessen. Der Pool war groß genug zum Schwimmen und die Betten waren bequem. Das Badezimmer ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber. Insgesamt können wir diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Elia und ihre Familie sind tolle Gastgeber und haben sich um alles gekümmert. Der Kontakt von der Ankunft bis zur Abreise war reibungslos. Und der Supermarkt ist mit dem Auto in nur 5 Minuten erreichbar. 5 Sterne!

Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und sehr sauber. Die Ausstattung in Bad und Küche lässt keine Wünsche offen. Gute Betten! Von der Terrasse aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick in die Anlage. Nachbarn sind so weit entfernt, dass sie nicht stören. Die Anlage, u.a. Zitronen-, Olivenbäume, Blumen und Kräuter, ist sehr gepflegt. Der kleine Pool (mit Liegen am Rande) bietet eine Abkühlung an heißen Tagen. Die Gastgeber sind äußerst herzlich und gastfreundlich. Man wird mit Tipps (für Ausflüge, Wanderungen, Restaurants, Einkausmöglichkeiten usw.) versorgt. Vielen Dank und alle guten Wünsche die gesamte Familie! (Leider kann an nur 5 Sterne vergeben)

A great holiday place !

We easily found the location , the family was waiting for us. Elia's mum had prepared for us homemade food and we were offered fruits and sweets. We were reallt pleased by the garden. It is full of trees and flowers, spacious and well-cared by the family's dad. The village is indeed very quiet (very few cars pass by) and we really enjoyed our drink in the evening sitting outside by the pool. Our holidays were exceptional there and the owners were great too! Strongly recommended !!

Ein Traum

Das Wichtigste zuerst: Elia und ihre Familie sind wundervolle Gastgeber. Hier wird die vielbeschriebene griechische Gastfreundlichkeit gelebt; freundlich, zuvorkommend, immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht und ab und zu steht eine selbstgemachte Köstlichkeit von Maria auf der Terrasse. Die Villa Estia ist schön, modern und mit Stil eingerichtet. Die Lage ist traumhaft. Inmitten von Oliven-, Zitronen- und Orangenbäumen steht diese neben zwei anderen Villen auf einem 8.000 m² Grundstück mit einem ca. 5 m x 10 m großen Swimmingpool. Es stehen vier Terrassen, für jedes Zimmer und jede Himmelsrichtung eine, zur Verfügung. Das ganze Haus ist auch technisch mit Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine, Klimaanlagen und Whirlpool sehr gut eingerichtet und das Grundstück wird sehr liebevoll gepflegt und ist mit Liebe zum Detail angelegt. Das Grundstück liegt ruhig am Ende des Dorfes Pagkalochori und ist für Ausflüge mit dem Auto in alle Richtungen gut gelegen. Zum Strand sind es 3 km und zu den wichtigsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Bäcker, Supermarkt in Platanes) sind es mit dem Auto ca. 10 min. Ca. 1 h fährt man nach Chania und zum Flughafen in Iraklion, je ca. 1,5 km sind es nach Matala, Plakias und Chora Sfakion und zur Lasithi-Hochebene ca. 2 h. Villa Estia is located in a privileged area just 1.5 km far from the beach, the nearest shops, mini markets, taverns, pharmacy etc. and 20min far from Rethymno town. It has got a beautiful natural and geographical position so that you can visit the eastern and western Crete easily (about 1 hour by car). You could combine your stay with a visit to the closest historical monasteries, Arsani and Arkadi, which are open to the public, archaeological sites (Eleftherna), the nearest picturesque villages (Loutra, Adele, Pigi, Maroulas, Arkadi, Margarites etc) and the town of Rethymno (10km far) with its historic fortress, Archaeological Museum, Old Town and the longest beach in Crete (18 km in length) covering very short distances. You could also go hiking, biking, fishing and swimming in the sea. During your walking tour you will enjoy the scenic route, the optical memorable and emotional experience offered by the landscape.
