About this property

Stunning House near St Just, West Cornwall, Sea Views, Garden & Pet Friendly

Porth Nanven House is a stunning property located at the end of a rural track in the beautiful and magical Cot Valley, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cot Valley is located in the far west of Cornwall between Cape Cornwall and Lands End, the valley stretches down to the sea, nearby is St Just with a selection of useful independent shops and good pubs. The historic coastal harbour of Penzance is 15 minutes away with a range of larger shops and supermarkets.

Porth Nanven House is a beautiful and spacious family home, it has recently been refurbished and completely redecorated. The property is packed with character features, beautiful furnishings, stunning views and is a real home from home.
A small courtyard leads to the main entrance of Porth Nanven House. There is a large traditional hand-made kitchen, well equipped with high quality kitchen equipment and plenty of storage space, there is an oil fired Aga with two ovens and two hob plates, a further electric oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, large sink, large fridge / freezer and separate island unit. The kitchen is open plan with a large dining table. There are two separate sitting rooms. The winter sitting room, is dual aspect with a wood burner, sofa, armchairs and a pull down TV screen. The second Summer sitting room has magnificent sea views, comfortable sofa and desk. At the back of the house is small downstairs WC and storage area for boots and coats. Access to the private garden is through a patio door from the kitchen / dining room.
On the first floor are three good sized bedrooms. At the front of the house is a dual aspect double bedroom with small ensuite bathroom with large shower enclosure WC and basin. There is a twin bedroom which can be presented as a double if required. There is a family bathroom between these two bedrooms with roll top bath, basin and WC. At the other end of the property is another family bathroom with large shower enclosure, WC and basin. There is a large master bedroom with incredibly comfortable super king bed, chest of drawers, built in cupboard and stunning sea views. There is a small single bedroom to the entrance of the master bedroom, again with beautiful views.
There is a large, terraced garden which is mostly laid to lawn. Large garden table with two benches and a BBQ so you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst you watch the sunset (which is incredible from this viewpoint!) Please note the garden is terraced and there is quite a drop between the top and middle terrace - all young children will need to be closely supervised.
Porth Nanven Cove which is sandy at low tide is easily walkable from the House, facing directly West the House benefits from the most incredible sunsets. From the House you can walk east towards Lands' End passing the long sandy stretches of Gwenver and Sennen Beaches. Or head west to Cape Cornwall, Zennor and along the start of the North Coast to St Ives.

Why would you ever want to leave...?
Stunning location. Beautiful house, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. A home from home. Couldn’t have asked for more. It was difficult to leave this morning!

Spacious beautifully furnished house nestled in the Cot Valley ideal for Walkers
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this stunning location overlooking the sea at Porth Nanven beach. Very handy for the South West coastal path but quiet and secluded house and garden at the same time with BBQ facilities. Wonderfully well-equipped kitchen with Aga to take the chill off on cooler days and for cooking. Full detailed instructions provided for the Aga and all other kitchen equipment. Our host, Phay had thought of everything to make it a perfect stay, from a great assortment of large candles in the dining room which we lit whilst watching the sunset to providing beach towels, scones, jam and cream and bottle of wine to welcome us and milk waiting in the fridge. Easily accommodates 6 adults with a 2nd fridge and freezer space. Fresh fish 20 minutes away at Newlyn was delicious and worth a visit. Within easy walking distance of lovely unspoilt St Just and all its amenities of butcher, bakery, green grocer, pubs and hotel. Just a short walk round the headland to the breath-taking views at Cape Cornwall in one direction and the beautiful beach of Sennen Cove the other way. In easy driving distance of Porthcurno and the historic Minac Theatre, beautiful beaches to visit and Penzance has its own mainline train station. We didn't do half of the things we planned to, such as explore the tin mining landscape at Crowns Shaft, Botallack, walks from St Just and the small engine house at Levant Mine so we will definitely be back. If you enjoy peace and tranquility and a feeling of being pampered, this is the place for you!

This beautiful property is lovingly managed by Stylish Cornish Cottages, a small family run business. I have been providing holidays in West Cornwall for a little over 16 years now, and nothing is too much trouble when it comes to your holiday! I live in West Cornwall so know the house and the area inside out, any questions you may have or any experiences / advice you want to make your holiday perfect then please just ask.

Why they chose this property

The location of this property is stunning, in the far west of Cornwall, in a beautiful valley. The sea views are magnificent as are the sunsets; the house is rural but really conveniently located to St Just which is a 15-20 minute walk away. St Just is a vibrant market town full of independent shops, great butcher, organic veg shop (and a farm shop on the outskirts), pubs, cafes and a small co-op for your everyday needs. There are footpaths in all directions if you wish to explore the south west coastal path; sandy beaches within a 15 minute drive and many of south Cornwalls attractions are also close by. The perfect location for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Cornwall but with the convenience you want when on holiday.

What makes this property unique

The location is hard to beat, inside the house is a home for most of the year, so it is so much more than your normal holiday home; filled with character, love and style.
