Apartment in Ortigia for a holiday between the sea and the historic city
The house is located in a characteristic alley of Ortigia in the most prestigious part of the historic center of Syracuse, in the ancient Giudecca district, a few steps from Piazza Duomo and the Aretusa spring. It is a comfortable three rooms soberly furnished and equipped with all comforts, with a large living room with a stucco vault from the 18th century, a double bedroom, a bedroom with one or two single beds, an independent kitchen, a bathroom and a large hallway.
Near the house there are shops, clubs, bars, restaurants and a beautiful puppet theater.
Syracuse-Ortigia: Syracuse has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the Island of Ortigia represents the most beautiful part of the city. It preserves numerous palaces and glimpses of great interest such as the splendid Piazza del Duomo and the mythical Fonte Aretusa. A short distance away are also the Maniace Castle, the museum of Palazzo Bellomo and the remains of the Temple of Apollo, the oldest Doric temple in Sicily. At 100 m from the house there is a solarium on the cliff of the eastern promenade. At about 8 km, there are the beautiful Arenella and Fontane Bianche beaches, reachable by car or bus. At 3 km you reach the magnificent Archaeological Park, where you can visit the Greek Theater the Ear of Dionysius and the Roman Amphitheater. A few meters from the house you can rent bicycles and a free shuttle bus service is available at the same point.
The Greek Theater: Every year at the Greek Theater in Syracuse, performances of two classical Greek tragedies are held from May to June.
