We had a lovely week and enjoyed everything the wonderful house had to offer. Swimming, walking and kayaking and our Labrador loved the swimming too! The nature and wildlife was outstanding. Also not far from restaurants and grocery stores. Perfect location.
We had a very special time staying at this charming lakeside cabin with my husband, two 30 yo children, and our 25 pound mini-Aussie Particularly appreciated the ambiance since our stay was amidst the craziness of a big wedding and several family gatherings.
Kayaking this pristine lake was stellar & we went out almost daily. Squam Lake is lovely, quiet, and pure- especially compared to Winnipesaukee. So happy I found this rental. Owner was delightful to work with. Cabin is “Rustic” but nonetheless we had everything we needed👍
Beautiful Squam Lake - peaceful, beautiful, pristine and quiet
The lake is the best, the cottage is 1950s or 1960s style, which is lovely for a camp. the 2 queen beds were both comfortable, the cottage was quite clean. You are in the woods, so the occasional ant is to be expected, although the owners are scrupulous about baiting for ants and preventing mice. 2 kayaks w paddles and PFDs were available, and there is a private dock. the water is as clean as I've ever seen. We enjoyed the lake and the cottage, and would seek out this rental if we decide to return to Squam. Definitely a great experience.

Wonderful Cottage on Beautiful, Pristine Lake
This is a gem of a place to stay, with a dock and 2 kayaks for use on Squam Lake. My family of 4 adults and 2 children under the age of 10 stayed here comfortably for 4 days. We spent lots of time sitting on the dock (chairs provided), swimming in the clear-to-the-bottom lake, and exploring the huge lake and its many islands in our kayaks. The small cove the cottage occupied, had a sandy bottom, which was a plus for us! When inside the cottage, there were lots of large windows looking out onto the water, and our favorite room was the porch, the next best place to be without being outdoors, with its cross breezes from the 3 walls of screened windows.
The cottage was immaculate, with an efficient kitchen which was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking in. One night we used their outdoor grill. There is no dishwasher here, but a clean double sink was nice for quick clean-ups - I had no complaints here. The cottage had pine panelled walls and all hardwood floors, and a pretty stone fireplace - a classy rustic feel! The 3 bedrooms were very comfortable, with excellent mattresses for sleeping on. And there was comfy seating in the living room, and on the porch for the grandparents! We played many card games here, and had a decent choice of board games too.
There are several good restaurants in the area too. And lots of choices for easy to difficult hikes - we did the easy hike on West Rattlesnake Trail which had a huge reward at the top, of the entire Squam Lake. We sat on the boulder top and enjoyed lunch and view.
I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a peaceful retreat on the beautiful Squam Lake, which is unlike nearby Lake Winnipisauki in that there are very few motorboats on Squam, keeping it serene and easy to kayak or canoe on.
Because it was late September it was very quiet and remote in its woodland setting. We loved the solitude and the drive back into the woods to discover a nice dock that projected out into Squam Lake for watching sunsets and relaxing in the sunny afternoons! We kept hoping to see a loon, but that did not occur, but we did hear them occasionally. We also enjoyed finding out more about them at the Loon Center nearby. I am a painter and enjoyed plein air painting the lake and woods.
Cute well appointed cottage right on lake
Lots of kayaking, paddle boarding hiking and swimming. Son in law enjoyed golf game, try and chip ball into bucket on dock! Dogs were good and enjoyed their time too !
The lakefront setting of this home set it apart from so many others. We had great adventures on the water - kayaking, paddle boarding, lake swimming, fishing, sunrise and sunsets, and some excellent “down time” out on the new dock.
The cabin is period perfect- it captures the essence of a late ‘50’s era lakefront respite. An overall excellent experience and value.
Location, screened porch, great mountain views with dock and old fashioned lake décor ✔✔✔✔✔!
Being in Center Harbor was perfect for heading to Meredith, Holderness, Wolfeboro, Tamworth, or Moultonborough for a meal or a beautiful drive.
The cabin is down a private dirt road, then you reach the shoreline and there she is, blending into the surroundings and welcoming vacationers. The screened porch was perfectly placed with windows and seating facing the lake and catching the breezes. The new dock was the perfect place to set a spell and dry in the sun's rays after a swim, kayak or fishing stint. We were grateful for the gorgeous sunsets (vs. sunrise), soaking in every last ray of sunlight before reading quietly on the screened porch.
The layout of the cabin is adorable, entering into the living area with a gas insert fireplace, charming seating and dining table all together. The kitchen had all necessary supplies, and when we chose, the numerous excellent restaurants in the area filled in the gaps. The three bedrooms are charming and minimalist, allowing room for spreading out.
We enjoyed every moment at this little cabin, and hope to return some day!
My family celebrated my birthday at the cottage. It truly is a special spot and the cabin is adorable! The fishing also was great. Highly recommend!!!!
The property is a traditional lake cabin (pine walls/floors & beautiful stone fire place). It is located in a very quiet area of Squam Lake, NH. My family used to have a cottage in this area when I was younger, so it was very special to be here again. Very cool to hear and see loons on the lake. Awesome experience!
The cabin is perfect for a relaxing stay that’s close to the white mountains. We were happy that this property offered kayaks to get out on beautiful squam lake
This was a perfect restful long weekend! The cabin was so wonderful and had everything you could need . We couldn’t of asked for more. Can’t wait to return! Thank you!
I surprised my wife on our 40th anniversary with this trip to “Golden Pond” , her favorite movie !
Annie’s cabin is wonderful and the view is amazing ! So quiet and secluded that we didn’t want to leave ! We will be back !

Sitting on the enclosed porch of this lovely cabin, you feel like you're right on Squam Lake. We enjoyed watching eagles and ducklings and seeing and hearing the loon pair that hung out in the cove. Kayaks were great, as was the swimming. A magical, relaxing place.

Absolutely Wonderful!!
My husband and I recently returned home after spending two glorious weeks on Squam Lake in this beautiful cottage on the lake. This home is so cozy and comfortable; the kitchen is well stocked and we had everything we needed to cook and bake for two weeks. The house has a fantastic sun porch where we spent our evenings reading and listening to the loons and the lake. Each evening we sat out on the dock watching the sun set. The fishing is terrific on Squam and the water near the house is shallow and clear and perfect for swimming. Our granddaughter loved it, as did we! The owners Annie and Todd were wonderful to work with-they were very responsive to my questions both by phone and email. All in all, I cannot recommend this cottage enough! Our whole experience here was absolutely wonderful and we are hoping to return!!!

Delightful cottage
We had a wonderful August week at the Squam cottage, swimming, kayaking and hiking the many trails around the lake. The cottage is as described, small but more than makes up for it with its water proximity, great porch, and views of the lake.

All We'd Hoped For, And More!
Our time on Squam Lake was, simply, golden. We were informed ahead of time that the owners' relatives would be occupying the adjoining properties, but they didn't adversely affect our stay in the slightest -- it was nice, actually, to have such good neighbors, with a well-behaved dog visiting from time to time -- made us feel even more at home. And home is certainly the appropriate term, as we've rarely been so comfortable in a property and its surroundings. The calm, clear water beckoned us to make use of the cabin's kayaks, which we enjoyed, along with just hanging around the private dock or playing Scrabble on the lakeside porch with the view to die for. I was up early every day, listening to the dawn chorus, and the elusive loons, having graced us with their presence our first night, reassured us most evenings after with their distant calls. We couldn't say goodbye to the lake on our departure, only, "Hope to see you again." If we could make reservations now to come back for the fall color three years from now, when we retire, we'd gladly book it!

Why they chose this property
This cottage has been in our family for 4 plus generations; originally built as a fishing/card camp for our great, great grandmother. Family from all over travel to our "camp" every summer to continue deep rooted traditions. It holds a lot of memories and charm and we love that we are able to share it with others.
