We had a great stay in Bordanoost. We were a party of five adults and the twin rooms we great. All the facilities were as expected. We especially liked sitting in the little conservatory looking over the bay - what a great view!

Lovely location, well presented.
With the property set in its own grounds but very close to Haroldswick Bay there are lovely views on all sides particularly onto the shore and sea beyond. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and look straight out onto the bay with sun streaming in though the windows. In the evening the sunsets at the rear of the property were spectacular. We experienced very nice weather during our stay but the very well heated rooms with the option of an open fire in the sitting room would make the stay very cosy whatever the weather.
Entering the property into a large hallway made the removal of outer clothes and footwear very easy.
The large kitchen / diner is well appointed and has lovely views as you prepare meals and wash up, but there is a dish washer.
The sitting room is well appointed and we appreciated the reference books for identifying birds, flowers, etc. There is a tv and iPod player which we hardly used.
We used the two bedrooms overlooking the bay and it was very pleasant to have a bath in one of the rooms after long walks.
Haroldswick is in a beautiful part of Unst with a lovely cafe, heritage centre and boat haven all close by. Further afield there are lovely beaches and walks on the cliffs to appreciate the wild life.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in the far north of Shetland.
A warm and comfortable house with a great view across the bay. All we could wish for in terms of amenities - just a few suggestions for things we didn't have (a tea pot, tea towels, and we thought there would be a DVD player but there wasn't) but overall excellent. And we appreciated the gift of beanie hats left on the beds - a nice touch and well-used!
We recommend stocking up on food in Tesco in Lerwick as much as you can - there's not much choice in Unst. And nowhere to have a meal out (hotel restaurant not open to non-residents, restaurant advertised at Saxa Vord no longer exists). Recommend the travelling Chinese travelling takeaway that comes on Sundays! Victoria's Tea room excellent but usually full - need to reserve! Walk to Hermaness puffins and colonies of gannets a 'must'. Take warm clothes (as for English winter!) even in June. But when the sun shines it's glorious.
Great location for exploring Unst. Fabulous views and great sunroom to sit in when the weather turns bad. Comfortable home, and good working kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and time in this most northerly isle.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Unst holiday at Bordanoost, the standard of accommodation was excellent and the location perfect. There was loads of room for everyone and lots of space for boots and jackets. The sitting room is cosy with a wood burning stove and the kitchen is large, with space for
several cooks. Plenty of equipment and facilities.
The bedrooms are airy and light, with ensuite. We sat in the porch with a view of the huge garden and the fantastic view. My room had the round window - brilliant.
Everything was easy and perfect for us at Bordanoost. We loved the water views from all the windows.... Appreciated the many books about birds and Shetland in general. The area provided all that we needed. And of course, that sunroom was the place to be !!

Lovely house by the sea
This is an excellent house well-positioned overlooking the bay where birds, seals and otters can be seen. The house has 3 bedrooms, each with newly fitted en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen is sufficiently well-provided with cutlery, crockery, pans etc. A key feature of the house is the conservatory, warm and ideally placed to catch the sun and watch the wildlife. Haroldswick is a small village, with an interesting Heritage Centre and a Boat Haven. It is also ideal for getting to the north of the island of Unst and waalking the coastal path.We loved it.
