Beautiful Private Home with Stunning Views of Opunohu Bay

Nestled into a lush hillside, Fare Marama is a beautiful private home, offering magnificent views of Opunohu Bay and the surrounding mountain peaks of Moorea.

The home consists of 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, great room and kitchen.

There is a King size bed in the master bedroom, and Queen size bed in the guest bedroom. The home can accommodate 4 adults or a family of 4 very comfortably.
The main bathhouse has a large single shower, two sink vanity, and toilet.
A half bathroom is located off of the primary bedroom.

The home offers a fully equipped kitchen which was completely renovated in 2025. The kitchen and living areas are part of a great room, which offers vaulted ceilings, and numerous windows that capture the incredible views of Opunohu Bay.

A wrap around deck with a table & 4 chair set, 2 loungers, and a gas BBQ, are also available for your enjoyment. The deck is the perfect place to take in the incredible views from the home, while enjoying your favorite beverage or dining al fresco.
The private yard surrounding the home is mature, with a variety of island plants, fruit trees and flowers.

You will find ceiling and floor fans placed in all of the rooms, to catch the island's breezes.
Please note: The home IS NOT air conditioned.
You will find a large television in the living room, along with a few games.

The house is equipped with a full size washer and dryer, and all bath towels, beach towels and linens are provided.

Wifi/Internet is also available at the home free of charge.
However, no telephone service is provided.

A unique feature of the home is that it offers both 110V and 220V outlets. Which makes it very convenient for our U.S. guests to charge their various electronic gadgets.

The closest beach is a short 5 minute drive from the house. This beach will give you access to swim in Opunohu Bay which the house overlooks.

Grocery stores and restaurants are a 10 minute drive from the home.
The home is quite secluded on a private mountainside, so a rental car is a must.

What an incredible place to stay whilst visiting this beautiful piece of paradise. The house is lovely, clean, tidy and has everything you need. The views are breathtaking and you truely can relax here. The hosts were fantastic providing us with all the information on the property and activities, restaurants etc in the area. Highly recommended for your stay on Moorea.Thank you for having us, we hope to visit again one day soon :)

Great location, views and space

We had an excellent stay at Veia's beautiful home in Moorea. Communication was good after booking and check-in was smooth. The home itself was beautiful, with incredible panoramic views looking out at the bay and the mountains. Wonderful stargazing at night. Great location close to groceries, restaurants and the public beach. Banana bread in the fridge was a lovely touch and we appreciated the friendly dog Koa that would visit and keep us company on the porch. As other reviews have noted, the driveway up to the home is quite steep, so try to arrive during daylight if you can. Also note there is no A/C, but screen doors and fans helped us sleep. Highly recommended!

Relaxing Stay

The house sits elevated which makes the views of the bay spectacular. It’s a spacious place, we didn’t feel cramped at all. It has a large kitchen with everything you’ll need for making meals, a comfortable living room & couch with a smart TV. One of our favorite things about the place was Koa, the sweet female pit bull who came and said hello every morning. She was wonderful. Overall, we loved our 3 week stay and would come back and stay here in a heartbeat.

Amazing view

Me and my friends stayed here for three nights and I regret not staying here longer. We really felt like we’re on vacation and the view was just magical. Most of the stores and restaurants in Moorea closes before 5pm and it was nice to have a kitchen when you don’t feel like going out, and we would always set up the table at the patio for dinner. It was wonderful, the view would really take your breath away.The owner was nice as well, she responds to my message within a just a few minutes. She was really gracious, even after my sister broke one of her fans (which we replaced btw). The check in process was really smooth and she let us come early and we were all greeted by the house keeper, Selma, and her dog. They were really lovely. We also were given a big loaf of banana bread which was delicious. This is probably the best rental vacation I’ve booked and we’ll definitely come back to this place again.

Beautiful property with phenomenal view

Gorgeous, gorgeous home. Veia, the owner, was super responsive and gracious via email. We had some confusion over published check-in times (the ones I received weren't the ones she had published on VRBO) and she graciously allowed us to check in earlier. When the wifi wasn't working, she even offered to refund us $20 per day so we could use it at the resorts (which totally charge that...even if you're eating a meal or buying a drink which I think is ridiculous). All in all, a great stay.

Best views on the island!!!

We LOVED our stay in this beautiful home. As others have mentione there's no AC, but the fans and open windows are generally sufficient. As noted in a previous review as well, one of the showers in the bathroom isn't working, which was no problem at all. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, we recieved a welcome gift of some FANTASTIC banana bread...and honestly, the view from this home cannot be beat. We wish we had included a few more nights here while we were on Moorea. Thank you for sharing your home and helping to make our stay amazing. We love Moorea, we loved this property and hope to return again...soon! Thank you!

Beautiful tropical home with incredible views

This was our second stay in this gorgeous home in beautiful Moorea, and hopefully not our last! The views from the lanai and every window are stunning. The island itself is a little paradise, clear blue water to swim and snorkel and majestic mountains all around. Veia, the owner, is wonderful to work with and has an amazing staff on Moorea who are quite helpful. Tom directed us to some amazing beaches and hikes! The house has everything you will need for your stay on Moorea. There is beach equipment, full laundry, and comfortable beds. We ate in most nights, the kitchen is well-equipped and we enjoyed using the gas BBQ. All the comforts of home in a private setting. The people of Moorea are warm and gracious and made us feel welcome everywhere we went. If you are looking for a vacation to really get away from it all and relax in a peaceful environment, I recommend Moorea and this beautiful house.

Oh, the view...

What an amazing property! The views of Opunohu Bay exceeded anything we could have envisioned. The house was well equipped with anything you would need. Very spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished. Separate bathhouse (with double showers) right out the back door. The half bath off the master was a great addition. Having a washer and dryer was very convenient. Tom and Roger were both helpful and kind with their expert advice. My one suggestion would be - please provide a direct phone number or email to the property manager, Tom, in case of an emergency. Moorea is a special place, and thank you to Veia and Matt for allowing us to experience it from their home as our starting point.

Beautiful Views!

The views of Opunohu Bay are amazing and the location for access to town and beaches is great. We stayed at this property for the month of January with our two young children. The property caretakers, Roger & Tom, were attentive and friendly. During our stay, the internet didn't work for 5 days but the caretakers and owner were responsive to the problem. Amenities were nice, including washer/dryer/bbq/blender (except toaster and deck umbrella didn't really work), but no AC and termites in the new kitchen cupboards. We've learned that French Polynesia in Dec-Feb (the time of our travels) is hot especially chasing 2 little kids around, and while fans were provided, we really should have prioritized AC. With bad mosquitos and no deck sunshade, it was impossible to enjoy the deck views or surrounding property during our stay. Note: deck doesn't have full railing and drops off so shadow parenting was required for little kids. But the fruit trees on the property (avocados, grapefruit, papayas, passion fruit) were amazing!

Our stay at the vacation rental in Opunohu Bay was absolutely wonderful. The location offered stunning views of the turquoise bay and lush green mountains.The rooms were spacious, clean, making us feel right at home. The kitchen was modern and fully equipped, ideal for preparing meals while enjoying the scenery. Overall, it was a beautifull location.

I took this property for the view and the hillside jungle setting. I was not disappointed. I also appreciated the multiple American style outlets so I did not have to use adapters for all my electronics.

Lovely private hillside home

This place was great. Lots of space. Amazing views in every direction. Very private and relaxing. Close to a nice public beach. Central to restaurants and activities. We would definitely recommend it.

Wonderful View and Location

This property was spacious and had the best view of Opunohua Bay! Wonderful sunsets! The area is quiet and the back of the home facing the bay. There is no air conditioning, but many fans throughout the home. After the sunsets the house gets cooler. There is plenty of space for 2-4 people. There is a steep drive up to the home, but after doing it a few times is is easier. The host is wonderful, flexible, and quick to respond to questions. We enjoyed our stay. cooler.

Beautiful and clean

This house is in a great location to things to do on the island. The house is absolutely stunning and was very clean. It’s true there is a steep driveway but it’s short and our little rental car did just fine. I would stay here again!

Great location & Excellent stay

This was an amazing experience to enjoy the island. Centrally located on the North shore .. close to everything including groceries and food options. Our host supplies us with an extensive list of restaurants/ activities which helped tremendously. Enjoyed the birds singing and rooster crowing. Onsite laundry was a life saver as outdoor activities can soil clothes quickly. Enjoyed ourselves and the entire experience.

Pristine and Secluded

This property is amazing. You cannot beat the 360 degrees of picture perfect views. The mountains on one side and the bay on the other, of which you have a terrific view, accented with mature palm trees. Truly magical. On-site manager, Selma, geeted us with a warm welcome and fresh baked banana bread. Beautiful inside. No A/C, but fans were provided.

Amazing

I mean the place and the views are unbelievable, it was absolutely dreamy. Check in was easy, the woman who greeted us showed everything around and the dog was super friendly and did a good job patrolling the property :) Kitchen has everything you need, lots of north american plugs there. It is also very private, we never saw other people.

Beautiful home

The views are the most spectacular on the island, close to food & any activities. Local public beach was great, a little sea weed on windy days but overall a fantastic experience. The owner was very attentive, as was Selma (the housekeeper) . 5 stars, can’t wait to come back.

Great Stay with Amazing Views

This home was in a beautiful location and was very spacious. The check-in process was very easy as well. We went in the summer and it was hot but the fans made it manageable. The deck with the view of the bay was amazing, and our favorite part of the entire stay! I would recommend to anyone looking to stay on the north coast of Moorea!

Un petit paradis sur Terre

La maison est vraiment vraiment magnifique !!! La vue de la maison, et particulièrement depuis la terrasse où il fait bon se reposer ou boire un petit café, est tout simplement époustouflante !!! Perfect House

Lovely, clean, well equipped house with beautiful deck views. The owners were always communicative and responsive. Found the location to be perfect. Moorea is really a paradise with wonderful locals, Polynesian and French. They say January is the off season due to it being the rainiest month, but I found that even with passing showers, a few deluge downpours, there was ample sun, and I was able to hike, snorkel, golf, and tan easily.

Amazing views!

We loved every minute of our stay! The banana bread was insanely delicious. Gorgeous views. We had two “rainy” days during our trip and we loved listening to the rain outside our window. We also enjoyed watching the sunset every night. The house did get warmer during the day *no ac but at night it was pretty cool with the windows open. We appreciated the hosts activity/ food recommendations. I was a little worried about the driveway based on other reviews but it wasn’t bad with a small car. Bring lots of bug spray!

My name is Veia. My husband Matt & I are the proud owners of 'Fare Marama' on the beautiful island of Moorea.
'Marama' is our Tahitian married name, that was given to us by my family on our wedding day.
I was born on the island of Tahiti but grew up on Maui. My Mother was also from Tahiti, and I still have quite a bit of family there.
While growing up, I spent many Summers in Tahiti and Moorea. Moorea was a favorite destination for my Dad and I, and it was always a dream to be able to own a home there one day. That dream was fulfilled in 2015 with the purchase of 'Fare Marama'.
We truly love our home away from home, and look forward to welcoming you as a guest very soon!
Matt and I and our three children reside in Maui, Hawaii.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with this property and home when I first saw it in 2008. However, it was not for sale at that time.
In 2015 the stars aligned, when we discovered that the original owners were ready to sell. The rest as they say is history, and we feel so blessed to be the owners of this lovely and unique home.
