About this property

Walk to the ocean, very private. Secluded, woodsy location.

We are a cozy studio in a unique setting. There is a babbling brook that runs through the property to the ocean. This was a granite-quarrying site many years ago, and the property retains the remnants of a granite road used by ox carts to move granite blocks to the schooners. There is wild life on occasion, we recently had a great blue heron for several days. State park on the ocean is a 20 min walk.

This was fantastic for my husband and I during our short stay. Phil met us at check in and was wonderful to interact with. The lodging is very small, but it was clean and quiet. We will definitely stay here again next time we’re in the area

Absolutely beautiful cut flowers were in the room to enjoy on arrival with a comfortable bed, cold mini-split air conditioner, and an adequate kitchenette with a dorm-sized refrigerator. The toliet and bathroom sink space were cramped together with a bathroom barn-style door that would not close completely because of a problem with the track and the entirr space had a strong odor like mold.

This location is truly special - so quiet, nestled in lush greenery, and minutes to the coastline. Fresh flowers in the room were a nice touch. Phil provided excellent instructions for finding his home easily.

I had a great stay :) Phil was very welcoming, friendly and hospitable. Took some great walks and had a nice meditation spot by the creek. Despite owners being on the property, I never saw them unless I needed something. They made it feel very private and that was very appreciated.

The only challenging thing was the weather! Phil was a fine host; the location is lovely. It is not at all accessible, so keep that in mind. We were in Gloucester to explore the outdoors, and Phil had a well-stocked 'things to do' binder, which we used.
