CHIA and CAPO MALFATANO
2 promontories (Capo Spartivento and Capo Malfatano) mark the southernmost tip of Sardinia: Africa is close, only 180 km separate the island from the Tunisian coast. Natural ports, spikes and beaches; coastal dunes, islets and ponds; hidden coves, large beaches, cliffs of ancient rocks, the oldest in the oldest region of Italy. The nuraghe lived in this stretch of coast and the Phoenicians subsequently founded the city of Bithia. Junipers that verdant on the dunes, white beaches, transparent waters and a vast sky that reaches Africa. Chia and Capo Malfatano are a magical place .. for 4000 years.

THE TOURIST SETTINGS AND THE BEACHES
The town of Chia is a fraction of the municipality of Domus de Maria located about 7 km away, inland. It is a settlement, with agricultural origin, which does not present a real inhabited nucleus, but must be thought of as a group of scattered houses linked to the different plots. Chia is famous for its famous figs and delicious vegetables: even today, along the path that leads from the provincial road to the beaches, there is a succession of farmers who sell the fruits of their work to the detail, just collected in the fields that overlook along the road.
The various tourist complexes rise, like a leopard spot, along the coast. In general, the houses are not built close to the beach, so that in Chia one perceives a greater sense of 'uncontaminated' compared to other areas of the south coast. The Chia Laguna Resort, part of the Le Meridien group, is the main tourist settlement in the area and with the 'piazzetta', shops and restaurants is the main meeting point for vacationers.
The beaches of Chia and Capo Malfatano
Along 10 km of coastline there are 10 main beaches and several small coves. These are real pearls, a concentrate of Mediterranean beauty that reaches its peak in the beautiful beach of Tuerredda, one of the most beautiful in Sardinia. We are in the area of the Sulcis, one of the most intact areas of the island: the coastal road that continues from Chia to the west to Teulada and Porto Pino was judged by QuattroRuote the fourth most beautiful road in Italy.
Su Cardolinu: the sea on two sides a short strip of sand that connects the coast to a sacred island for the Phoenicians; there are no services. Su Portu: located under the promontory of the Torre di Chia is formed by sand and pebbles; there are no services. Sa Colonia / Monte Cogoni: compared to Su Portu it is on the opposite side of the promontory; golden sand and pond behind; there are no services. Beach of the Dead: small but intense; junipers on the back-beach and beautiful water. Campana: 2 steps from the golf course, surrounded by dunes covered with juniper and Mediterranean scrub; kiosk bar at the beach. Su Giudeu: the largest beach, one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, on the back the pink flamingo pond, a swimming island; services: umbrellas and sun beds rental, refreshment points. Cala Cipolla: for many the most beautiful beach of Chia, a small fjord of sand, light and colors; it is the last beach before Capo Spartivento; there are no services. Perda Longa and Cala Antoniareddu: in the Gulf of Malfatano 2 beautiful sandy coves protected by pink granite; transparent water; there are no services. Tuerredda: white sand, heart shape, protected by the Malfatano cape, a swimming island accessible to the sea, an unreal turquoise sea. Spectacular, one of the most beautiful beaches of Sardinia; services: beach umbrellas and deckchairs and boats rental, kiosk bar, refreshment area, showers and paid parking.
Shopping: in Chia you can find some minimarkets where to shop. For fruit and vegetables, a good solution is the roadside stalls (we recommend negotiating the price). To save money, go to the village of Domus de Maria. Several market on the provincial road to Pula / Cagliari, in correspondence of the different tourist complexes (the nearest is the 'La Pineta' market about 6 km away)
Eat out: you can choose from several restaurants and pizzerias
