Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place is secluded in the woods. A dirt drive leads up to it. Accommodation are very comfortable. Spacious, well appointed, clean. High end finishes. Lots of natural light with slider doors leading out to the spacious deck from the great room & two bedrooms. A door leads off to a covered deck in the back. Our family felt very at home here.

Nightmare on Deep Creek

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First off my check in experience was terrible. I stopped by the MGMT office and they told me I would get a call when the property was ready. About an hr before check in time I received a call stating the property was ready. I was given a code to get into the cabin. I arrived at the cabin only to find out that there was no where to use a code to enter. I called the MGMT company and explained this; they stated "oh yea that property doesn't have a code; you'll have to come to our office to get a key"err ok then why did you give me a code in the first place? So i drive back to the office and get a key. Upon arriving back at the cabin I find out they gave me a key that didn't open any of the doors..YOU'VE GOT TO BE S*** ME! I drive back to the office again. When I arrive they give me what is hopefully the correct keys to the place. I drive back to the property and finally; success! I'm getting into the property about a half hour after my check in time. Later that evening we go to use the grill..only to find out that the propane is empty. I call the MGMT company and they state that their should be a full bottle but I can go out and get a new one and submit a receipt to be reimbursed. The next morning I find that the toilet in the bathroom across from the master doesn't flush well and their is only 1 plunger in the whole freaking place(note to owner or whoever reads this put a plunger in every bathroom so if **** starts to overflow your not running around the house in a panic). Then I take a shower only to realize the shower doesn't drain while showering, thats great! So after 3 mins in the shower ur up to ur shins in water, swell! Overall I wouldn't recommend this property to friends, relatives, **** even enemies! Based on the ****** customer service, condition of the house.

Charming, Comfortable Cabin

We were pleased with our accommodations! There were places to enjoy in every corner of this property. The front deck, main living area, basement game room, back porch with hot tub, and backyard with fire pit all saw a lot of use during our stay. Plenty of space to enjoy each other's company, or spread out for some down time. The string lights in the backyard added the perfect ambiance to lend to the relaxing atmosphere. We found the property suitable for children. If any downside need be mentioned, the freezer door did not close completely and a couple of bedroom doors would get stuck and lock the occupant inside. Knocking to get out of the bedroom was cumbersome, but I trust that maintenance addressed these issues upon our departure!

Enjoyable, not amazing

Overall, we had a great time and the house was large with plenty of space for our whole party. When we arrived the house wasn't as clean as I would have expected and we had to sweep the floors before even taking off our shoes. The beds were not comfortable and the basement was freezing cold! The fireplaces- one on each level were quite nice though. This house DOES NOT have internet, as the VRBO website states. When I called the management company they confirmed that the house does in fact, not have internet. No reliable cell phone service either. Not a deal breaker but definitely inconvenient. Very private, quiet and relaxing and overall fit our needs for the weekend.

While it was okay to disconnect we did need internet for some things so had to go to the coffee shop to hook up.

Direct TV was supposed to come but didn’t. Shower curtains were full of mold. Description said “sleeps 8”, but the 8th bed was the sofa bed which had a very thin mattress. Had to use our air bed. Oddly, a neighbor came by in his golf cart and inquired about our stay because he just “wanted to make sure we were gone before his people came”. Don’t know why he didn’t just ask the rental office. Made us feel very uncomfortable.

Reviewer Comments: I was very upset with the condition of the house, both inside and out. I had called the day of arrival and was supposed to have someone call me back the following day (which was Friday) and never received a phone call until I called back several days later. When we arrived, the outside of the house was not maintained. There were piles of dead leaves around the back of the house that were left from fall, there was a beer can by the fire pit, and the fire pit was not cleaned out. The table under the covered porch was not cleaned off, which looked to have dust and bird droppings over it, while there were several planters that were filled with dead flowers and weeds. All the while the neighbors were running loud equipment. The inside of the house was dusty, especially the chandelier over the dinning room table. There was no house phone to call the line to check in, even though the binder said to use that line. The air conditioner would not turn on. Someone was dispatched that evening and fixed the air conditioner but at first could not even locate the unit and was opening up the locked doors with a knife and screwdriver. He was very friendly and had his work shirt on so it wasn't a safety issue but it made me uncomfortable with the method being practiced to open locked doors. Also, the downstairs bathroom's shower had the nozzle fall off the wall, the main door to the deck would not lock, the guestroom's fan wouldn't turn on, and the other guestroom's window trimming fell off when I was checking to make sure if they were locked. We also found a live chipmunk in the pullout couch in the basement. Although it could have managed to have gotten in at another point of time, it was still interesting to have to figure out a way to get the animal outside. I sent roughly the same description above in an email (requested method of contact), trying to accomplish some sort of resolution. As of today (07/10/2018), still have not heard from them. Terrible business.

The couch was in very bad shape. It was a faux leather that was coming apart and looked horrible. We had to get a couch blanket to cover it up. There were cobwebs from light fixtures and fans and all but one shower curtain was very dirty. The rug in the main living area upstairs was full of dog hair (didn't look like it had been vacuumed at all). Additionally, there was no working can opener. A real problem at meal prep time.

Great Cabin in the Woods!

Very close to all of the amenities and activities, but just far enough into the woods to feel totally secluded. The layout of the home is great, majority of the amenities are updated, and the front deck for the sun and the rear covered porch for rainy days and shade were spectacular. Fire pit was a fun time and large. Will definitely be looking into renting this property again.

I would have cleaning ladies use a duster on light fixtures and corners. What was bad we had 4 of us that clean for a living and its just automatic to look at stuff.A tree was down on left side of house and it had been there awhile.Basement had a musty smell even though a dehumidifier was running. All and all we enjoyed it.

It needs some serious cleaning and some minor repair/attention. The biggest disappointment was the oven didn't work and it took 5 days to get it fixed. We had brought a lot of groceries to save the expense of eating out so wasn't able to fix a lot of things we had planned. Taylor Made was always courteous.

Mixed feelings

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay here was wonderful and the location of this home is great...super close to the lake and the slopes at Wisp. However the home could use some TLC. The downstairs where one bedroom is does not get adequate heat compared to the rest of the house. A couple of the rooms lacked any sort of blinds or window coverings for privacy and help keeping light out. The technology in the house could use an update as there were remotes missing for the TVs and DVD player which required you to locate the buttons on the devices to do anything. A universal remote would have resolved this easily. There were a couple other small items that didnt work such as lights burnt out, drains clogged, or fans not working as well that didnt stop us from enjoying the place but just showed a lack of care to the property. My last complaint is that the home didnt appear to have been cleaned well before our arrival - there was dog hair all over the place, dog poop found under the kitchen table, and dog poop found outside a bedroom door on the deck.

Beautiful Rock Lodge Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We wanted to express our sincere thanks to your staff for facilitating our stay at the Rock Lodge Cabin. It is a beautiful home. We did however have a few issues that I wanted to bring to you attention. First and foremost were the issues with the coded entry lock. I love these things and understand the importance of them for safety issues. The problem we had was that one code didn't work at all, so you gave us a new one, which we found didn't work the next day when we tried it, that was Christmas day. Thanks to your Sierra, we were able to get another one. We actually had 4 codes for our 4 day stay. Those issues where a little unsettling, and made us discuss our reluctance to use Taylor Made again. Our fear being that what if we came in late at night and found ourselves locked out, that we would not be able to reach your office for an entry code. As far as the home itself, the dishwasher did not work, many lights were out (lights located very high on the peaked ceiling which we would not attempt to replace) which left the kitchen cooking area dark. We also could not use the DISH Network as there were no instructions, and the basement did not heat very well. There was white or blonde hair, looked like dog hair, under the kitchen table. We understand there was no wifi, but it sure would be a consideration in the future when considering the Rock Lodge. The owners really should install that. Thanks again. Sincerly, Bill Mundorff

I have no idea why in this day and age a house doesn't have wifi. We had to go to the cafe to get wifi. We also had problems with the Dish set up. There were two TVs but one was missing a satellite box, and there were four dish remotes and only one seemed to work reliably. I think the instructions for using the TV and satellite could have been more clear. Have whined about those minor issues, I'd say were overall pleased with the house. It was clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Next time I think we'll find a rental with a lake view.
