Why they chose this property
This property has been the culmination of a life long dream and a lifetime of work. Since the age of 5, I grew up as a summer and weekend kid on the adjacent land where my parents had a cabin. The property where this log cabin sits had belonged to friends of my parents.
Since the age of 14, I told them that I dreamed of living on this site and that I would do whatever it takes to buy it someday. What else could a teenager say. That was in 1978, and I had spent the subsequent 21 years pleading with them let me buy it. Of course, I didn't have any money at the time, so it was becoming a more and more elusive dream. While my parents' site was beautiful, as are all sites on the Esopus Creek, this had view to die for. One that looks all the way down the creek, for miles.
Finally, in 2000, at age 35, the previous owners sold me the land and held the mortgage, thus, putting my dream within reach. This log cabin was completed in 2005. I built it myself over the course of 3 years. My wife and I have lived in it full time since 2008 and have loved every moment here. We have since built our main house adjacent to this log cabin and have decided to offer it to guests that wish to enjoy the same beauty and peacefulness of this very special little corner of the world.

What makes this property unique
Unlike most lakefront properties, there is no one on the other side. Just nature. The home itself is completely hand built with hand peeled logs. And the sounds of the Forest at night are beautiful. Like jet skiing or fishing with your own boat? The village has a public beach with public ramp to put your watercraft in the water and bring it on down the creek to the cabin. Also, a great way to go from the cabin to the village by boat. Leave the car back at the ranch and cruise by water into the village.
