Within walking distance of the secluded beach at Thornham, this attractive double-fronted detached hideaway is perfect for a family, or for couples. Beautifully renovated to retain plenty of original charm, Ivy Cottage cottage attracts many return visitors.

This traditionally curated character cottage boasts many original features, including a wonderful old inglenook fireplace and exposed beams, which add to the overall charm. Beautifully furnished with antiques and tasteful decoration, this property also features delightful Pamment flooring, which is heated underfloor. The well-equipped kitchen is a cook's dream, hosting a fabulous Rangemaster cooker, and plenty of work top space, making it the ideal space to rustle up a delicious meal made using a plethora of the areas local produce.
A magnificent stripped pine staircase leads to the three bedroom. A stunning ornate antique French walnut double bed features in the master bedroom. The second bedroom features a double bed, and a third bedroom offers two single twin beds. These room are served by a shower room and separate bathroom, each with heated towel rails. The enclosed garden is surrounded by a wall, making it a real suntrap. Mature fruit trees, including mulberry, medlar, peach and apple, plus a herb patch, make this a quaint traditional country garden to be enjoyed. On sunny days, fire up the barbecue when the table and chairs beckon you outside to dine al fresco.

Situated within walking distance (thirty minutes) of the wonderful deserted beach, and the coastal path, Ivy Cottage is in a popular location. The village boasts several excellent places to eat, including The Orange Tree, The Old Coach House and The Lifeboat Inn, all within walking distance. This delightful cottage is a perfect base for a North Norfolk holiday.

Great holiday cottage

This is a lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage. The garden is particularly beautiful and our children loved playing there. The village of Thornham is a fabulous place with great facilities and close to lovely beaches.

Gorgeous

We've stayed in Ivy Cottage twice and loved it both times. The house and garden are lovely, comfortable and thoughtful to the nth degree. I am particularly fond of the kitchen and the bountiful supply of really good and even beautiful dishes and cooking equipment - I hate those places with just 4 plates, forks, knives &c, and not even a grain of salt in the cupboard. There are drawers full of DVDs (skewed young/family) and the heating is sensational. It's our favourite place to stay and incidentally is perfect for revising teens - they love taking over the huge, sunny kitchen table, and the wifi is great. There are flaws in the diamond: the double beds are terribly pretty but oddly uncomfortable to sleep in and the village itself is sort of posh-but-grim, though the Lifeboat pub and the walk out to the staithe are nice, and the farm shop (open every day) and fish shop are brilliant. It is fiendishly expensive. But save money by cooking in the fab kitchen, and be grateful at how cheerfully those teens revise when it's made this nice for them...
