Dairy Cottage dates back to the 17th Century and has been lovingly converted, with many of the original nooks and crannies of this ancient Westmorland dairy still evident.

Beamed living room with quality furnishings throughout, deep window seat, raised hearth and cast iron stove set within an old feature inglenook fireplace.

Creatively designed kitchen/diner is enhanced by an exposed stone faced wall.

Newby is a charming village set in the Eden Valley. The Scottish Borders and Hadrian’s Wall are to the North, the Dales National Park to the South and Keswick and Derwentwater to the West. The historic market towns of Appleby (8 miles), Penrith (8 miles), Kendal (21 miles) are within easy reach and lakes Ullswater and Haweswater are only a short drive away through the unspoilt valleys of Swindale and Sleddale. Delightful cottage.

A lovely,fully equipped clean and comfortable cottage in a very nice quiet village. Close enough to any shops restaurants etc. (just a short drive away). We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this cottage all. Many thanks to the owners for such a lovely place.

Lake District holiday

The cottage was very clean and well equipped good parking for two cars good sized bedrooms and bathroom nice quiet village easy access to places to visit would definitely recommend and return. WiFi is hit and miss as you have to connect via the neighbouring cottage so only works in certain areas of the cottage so planning places to visit and check on the weather and family at home could sometimes be difficult the weather was very hot when we went so a fan would have been handy apart from that the cottage was perfect

Beautiful

We had a lovely stay cation in this beautiful cottage. Loved everything about it. Car essential though. Would highly recommend this property to stay in. We would book here again.

Lovely Cottage

The cottage is lovely, cozy, and beautifully arranged. It was very clean when I arrived and everything was provided for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I particularly loved the historical details and the window seat.
