delightful and charming.
delightful and charming. lovely cottage. not sure what others had to complain about as we arrived to find the cottage warm and cosy. in fact if anything we had to turn the temperature down. we had a lovely views of the flowing beck and three cows and three ducks. locals were very friendly and the local pub the George was reasonable and generous proportions. haddock and chips take away at an amazing £7.45 was an absolute winner. the welcome pack was the best we have seen with the addition of an extra pint of milk delivered mid week much appreciated. there was also the selection of extra wine. Someone knew we were coming!. overall we arrived feeling anxious about social distancing and Covid restrictions but left relaxed and ready to take on the world. would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to de stress. we liked it so much we would buy the cottage if the owners wanted to sell! The chimney in the lounge, needs looking at , as we were inundated with smoke every night.
The chimney in the lounge, needs looking at , as we were inundated with smoke every night. Also the heat sent out by the fire was very poor, even if we moved the fire guard away. The whole house and all our clothes smelt of smoke when we came home. We felt that not all the visitors they have at the cottage would be walkers, fit and able. So the bags of coal which we were expected to get, were too heavy. Could they not be at the house already. Also there was nowhere dry to keep it. Apart from that, we were very happy. Thank you.
