About this property

Stylish Cornish waterside cottage on the SW coast path

September Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage beautifully modernised and furnished in a minimalist style using neutral greys and chalky whites to make the most of the natural light. Situated in the heart of Helford just by the creek, it is a few minutes walk to the village pub, shop and the sailing club. This stunning, comfortable cottage will ensure a lovely relaxing holiday whatever the season.

On entering September Cottage you walk into an open plan living space, with bleached plank flooring throughout, an enormous L shaped sofa welcomes you to relax in front of the Smart TV with Netflix and enjoy the cosy wood burner.
The fully equipped kitchen is a bright, white space with stone worktops, all the appliances - dishwasher, SMEG washer/dryer, fridge/freezer all concealed to maximise space and there is a dining table for four.

There are useful shelves and hooks as you ascend the wooden painted stairs to the bathroom with bath and overhead rainforest shower, a heated towel-rail and underfloor heating. Then onto a small double room, fitted with ample built in storage a platform for the bed and decorated in greys and whites. The larger twin room has two single beds, a big wardrobe and views of the upper creek and valley behind on the edge of the public footpath to Frenchman’s Creek.
The terrace above the house is for use by next doors cottage only and does not belong to September Cottage, therefore may not be accessed. It is also very steep and can be slippery underfoot so please take great care and ensure children do not access.

Bed linen and towels are provided, the pillows and duvets are all feather and down. The electricity is included, plenty of hot water for 4 showers a day. During winter months we provide kindling and logs. Parking is usually available in the road around the creek opposite the house, there is also a pay and display car park in the village.

Short breaks are available between October to April. During school holidays minimum 7 day booking. Normal changeover days are Friday or Saturday - please ask if alternative dates are required and I will do my best to accommodate.

Boats, kayaks and paddle boards can be launched into the tidal creek just a few steps from the house.

Helford is a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty and is on the SW Coastal path, there are many beautiful secluded coves within walking distance of the house and further afield spectacular beaches such as Kynance Cove, Poldhu and Gunwalloe.

A a peaceful, Inspiring, place
This lovely cottage was an ideal base for exploring the village and its surroundings. Helford is a “picture postcard location”, with the waters of the creek almost lapping the cottage steps at high tide times. Thatched roofs abound here and the village shop and pub offer the essentials for any holiday. Walks to Frenchman’s Creek and to the ferry (seasonal) that takes you across to beautiful gardens and more are a just a couple more temptations of this peaceful, inspiring place.

Beautiful cottage in a great location
We had a wonderful stay at September Cottage. The interior is stylish and immaculate and was well equipped. Helford is very beautiful with walking from the door, a useful village shop and a good pub offering food every night. The village has enough people around to feel populated and we had many impromptu chats en route to the shop - but is still quiet and peaceful. Thank you.

Our family have been visiting Helford every year for decades. In 2016 we acquired September Cottage, right at the edge of the creek on the little road through Helford, the perfect place to launch boats and watch the world go by.
We spent two years renovating and decorating the cottage to the highest standard, maintaining the traditional build but adding contemporary fittings and furnishings. We love to share it with other Helford lovers and hope it will be provide a memorable holiday for guests throughout the seasons.
