Limnoupolis water park is in 14 km for a day visit.
In 5-10 km are sandy beaches i.e. Agia Marina, Stalos, Kalamaki, Glaros and Agii Apostoli where there are coffee and beer kiosks, beach volley, racket playing grounds, wind surfs, and other water sports. At the Park music festivals and other culture happenings get organized.
Visit with the bus-train the oldest olive tree in Vouves and its museum, or drive to for 12 km.

The car is recommended if you plan to explore Crete.
