Hi, we’re Martyn and Tas, owners of Le Seguinet. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our lovingly restored holiday retreat in the beautiful historic Lot-et-Garonne (Aquitaine) region of France.

Our 18 acre private enclave comprises three sumptuously renovated properties, which sleep 12, 5 and 5 guests respectively. The properties can be rented separately for family and friend stays, or the estate can be rented as a whole. The stunning environment of the estate of Domaine de Seguinet, makes this an ideal location for weddings, family and friend get-togethers, and even as a film location.

Our hearts and souls went into the extensive restoration work of the 200 year old buildings, recreating some of the region’s rich history back into their foundations. We are currently rebuilding the millhouse/forge that formerly made cannon balls for Napoleon’s armies!

All the work was carried out with our guests’ comfort in mind. The fabulous original stonework has been exposed and beautiful high ceilings have been restored; the French doors and windows open up space and light, giving wonderful views to the gardens.

There’s plenty to explore around the grounds, where guests can lose themselves in the gardens, eat fruit from the orchard, paddle or go boating on the lake. Le Seguinet is also an idyllic setting for children, who can spend days exploring the grounds and setting up camp for their very own French “swallows and amazons” adventure. For the younger ones there are swings and slide to amuse them.

The rivers Lemance and Briolance border the estate, where children and adults alike can enjoy tickling trout, basket catching crayfish or wading down to the lake where they can experience wild swimming. Guests can fish in the lake, in the mill stream and even in the ornamental pond. Alternatively relax in our sun loungers, take a nap in the hammock and in the summer months when you need to cool down, you can swim in the pool, or a take dip in the refreshing lake.

Local Region & Things To Do

Le Seguinet is set on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Saint-Front-sur-Lémance in the heart of the Aquitaine region on the borders of the rivers Lot, Garonne and Dordogne. An area characterised by lush valleys, where rivers run through, poppy and sunflower fields blanket the vista and enchanted forests dot the landscape.

You can walk into the village (2 minutes) to buy fresh bread and croissants every morning and within a 4-5kms there are several small towns with stores and markets. Le Seguinet is just 10 minutes drive from the town of Fumel, where you’ll find many large supermarkets, restaurants and shops.

There are plenty of cultural attractions in the region, with numerous famous bastide towns (fortress towns) and chateaux nearby, and well worth a visit. We recommend: Belves, Monflanquin, Monpazier, Villefranche-du-Perigord, Villereal, Issigeac and Chateau de Biron to mention just a few. The beautiful town of Sarlat is only a 45 min drive away.

The region is wine and food lover heaven, with its long history of gastronomy and wine culture. Visit the vineyards of Bergerac and Dordogne, or Cahors and bring a bottle or two back to enjoy at Le Seguinet. And of course, eating out is part of the French way of life. Leisurely lunches can be enjoyed at great value, with most restaurants offering a three course lunch menu from around 12 euros including wine. For those looking for a haute-cuisine experience, there are some superb restaurants in the local region, including Michelin star restaurants in Pujols (40 mins) & Agen (40 mins). Just 10 min drive away you can dine in one of two restaurants, located at the foot of the historic Chateau de Bonaguil.
There are plenty of outdoor pursuits for adults and children, nature lovers and adventure sports enthusiasts, such as canoeing, hiking, cycling, kayaking, rafting, canyoning, golf, wild swimming, tree climbing, fishing and lots more!
Arriving at Le Seguinet is so easy with Bergerac airport only an hours drive on a simple and easy to follow route. Bordeaux and Toulouse are also within an easy drive.

Our guests immediately fall in love with Le Seguinet and Lot-et-Garonne, just as we did the first time we visited. Come and see us, we’d love to share our favourite places and tried and tested recommendations with you. We know you’ll appreciate the beauty of the region just as we do.

We’re also happy to help you plan your holiday activities and recommend cultural and natural places to visit.

An amazing holiday retreat. Total perfection!

I would highly recommend la Seguinet! A large party of 12 of us celebrating our friends 60th birthday visited in June 2017, we all had a fabulous time. The house is set in beautiful grounds, with a lovely pool and sun terrace, where we spent most of our time! The hosts were so accommodating, Jas cooked a delicious homemade curry for us one evening, and arranged for a local chef to cook a four course dinner for our celebration night. We will certainly return.

Seguinet is a beautiful property providing excellent accommodation and facilities.

Martyn and Tas will go out of their way to ensure guests have a great experience at Seguinet and in the local area. Tas will provide first class meals upon request or arrange for a local chef if required. The village has a great bar and a well stocked shop and Seguinet is within an easy and beautiful drive of some of the best scenery in the Dordogne and upper Lot valley. The manoir is beautifully restored and furnished and the pool and outdoor area is perfect for casual dining. The grounds are extensive and provide a peaceful and scenic escape by the lake or the pond . Apart from the local bar where you can have a drink with the locals there is an excellent bar and dining within minutes at Blanquefort where Geoff and Annie will provide first class meals and great hospitality. Seguinet is also within easy reach of several large supermarkets in Montayral and a great market at Monsempron Libos. The Sunday market at Isseagac is well worth the drive and makes a great day out. Overall, this is a wonderful property and the welcome we received is second to none.

Holiday of a lifetime

We booked the main house and the coach house with a group of 16 for a special occasion through ownersdirect.com, some of us flew to Bergerac and some to Bordeaux. The short hours drive from berjarac was beautiful, extremely picturesque. We arrived greeted by the very friendly owners Tas and Martyn and were supplied with complimentary bottles of wine in the fridges on arrival. I was expecting the beautiful photos of this property that enticed us to book to be somewhat photoshopped and that surely no place can be as stunning as these pics but when I arrived it literally took my breath away. We all spent a good first hour just wandering around the house and the grounds just soaking it all in! The mansion has clearly been a labour of love for the owners, who's attention to detail with the decor is exquisite, every room, every fixture, every item of furniture.... It's clear there's been no expense spared inside and out. The exterior is just as impressive with extensive grounds, beautiful marquee area and BBQ pergola, and the superb pool... Which was immaculately maintained for us. The gardens and lake are just the icing on the cake, during our stay the flowers were in full bloom and the lake well stocked with carp and trout so the men of the group enjoyed many an hour fishing with rods provided. Tips: the owners and possibly past guests have plenty of extras for the stay that you feel you have to bring such as spare sheets, spare towels and pool equipment for children/floating devices etc which are kept in the pool house. We encountered a few hiccups that you would expect given the age of the property eg. Electrical/drainage however the owners were on hand immediately to resolve with minimum fuss and disturbance The location is very beautiful and we did take a few trips out in the car to nearby towns such as monpazier where we experienced one of their night markets (highly recommended) and also to visit some of the picturesque chateaus. There is a supermarket 15 min drive which we used to stock up a few times during the week and a local shop open a few hours a day where we were able to order pastries for collection each morning. I cannot recommend this as a holiday destination enough we have all had the holiday of a lifetime, ages from toddler, teen, and all aged adults there was something for everyone. The younger children spent the week in the pool, the teens stayed in the self contained coach house with its own plunge pool, whilst us adults chilled on

Peace and Tranquility

We arrived - late - after a gruelling two day drive - and were welcomed by the owner. And the welcome didn't end there. Tas and Martyn were on hand at any opportunity and were a joy to talk to. The Manoir is stunning. A real gem. I have an 18 month old toddler, who enjoyed the grounds - and knowing that she was safe to roam around was joyful. She also enjoyed the swings in the grounds. The other 5 kids (aged 6-10) loved the swimming pools, the vast grounds and especially the lake - where they all learnt to row. Seeing the kids running around - exploring and doing what kids should do - was the icing on the cake. They also went fishing and played table tennis. They would loose themselves for hours - whilst we could sit and relax around the pool or by the area of conviviality. For my parents, the established grounds provided plentiful shade and areas to walk. Again ideal. The property is stunning and vast. Tas and Martyn have done a beautiful job in restoring it and each room was presented very well. Plenty of room within the house for each guest to have their own space - for TV, reading, playing, office work. The kitchen was well stocked witih all items required. BBQ area was delightful too. I cant fault the property. The area is quiet with plenty to do, a short drive away. You would need a car if staying here. There are two smaller properties on the site which were occupied whilst we were there. Upon our return Tas has been very helpful to me in locating a lost item and has been kind enough to agree to send it to me. I would return here without fail.

Tranquility at Manoir Seguinet

Have known te owners of this beautiful property for some years. I was not disappointed when I arrived. The Manor house is exquisite and beautiful kitted out. Full of character and charm. The attention to detail is second to none and I would highly recommend a visit. The Manor House obviously caters for a large group of people but the accompanying gites are that perfect getaway from it all!! With swimming pools, beautiful location and everything to such a high standard you could not possibly want for more. The owners have on- hand knowledge of places to visit in the area and are on hand to assist you in any way possible. A very upmarket holiday with so much attention to detail. A perfect holiday to recharge the batteries

La Seguinet

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property and grounds. Tas, the owner, was always friendly and willing to help when needed. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely visit again in the future. Our 4 year old son was very sad to leave La Seguinet, as he wanted to stay for '100 weeks'! Anybody who decides to holiday here will have a wonderful time in a beautiful secluded location.

About the host

We are an English couple, Tas & Martyn who moved to the Lot et Garonne after visiting the area for holidays. We have spent a few years restoring and renovating the main house and gardens and now live on site from March through to October. Someone is always available to help you with any questions.

Why they chose this property

We had spent holidays in the Dordogne for a number of years and have fallen in love with the area and it's peaceful way of life. It compares with the beauty of the Cotswolds in the UK but with warmer weather. The setting of Seguinet is tranquil and idyllic and yet very accessible to the various bastide towns, villages and chateaux around.
