This property was perfect. Beautiful quiet location. Owners were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after.
We highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Our stay at Tangley in the UK was fabulous. Very nice and comfortable cottage, friendly and helpful host, and wonderful countryside walking. Absolute heaven.
A great find. Although in the owners garden there was plenty of privacy and outside seating to enjoy. The owners were very helpful and happy to help if you have any questions. There are dogs but they are also very friendly and sometimes sleep near you when sitting outside. The property was very clean with plenty of space to relax. There's a Thai pub within walking distance which is very good and the property is in an excellent location to explore Hampshire with the south coast only about an hour away.
As per our previous visit in 2019, Rob & Maggie could not be more welcoming & efficient with the running of the lodge, nothing was too much trouble with the lodge being extra clean & well stocked with consumables ...10 out of 10 from us....thanks guys!!..
A lovely place to stay. We ended up staying 4 months in between a property move. Rob and Maggie were so flexible and couldn’t do enough to help. A perfect and peaceful location. Would definitely recommend. Thank you again.

We very much loved our stay at Rob and Maggie's annex in Tangley in between house moves. We felt very welcome and had all the amenities we needed for the week.
The location is wonderful and The Fox pub opposite does lovely Thai food. Our 4 year old daughter loved playing on the trampoline, with their dogs and chickens.
Very much recommend this rental. 5/5!
We had a fantastic stay in this annexe. Maggie and Rob were the best hosts you can imagine. There are very helpful and have a lot of good ideas of what to do and where to go. We hope to return someday because we haven't seen all there is to see around here.
We also enjoyed the fresh eggs and plums which had a unbelievable freshness.
Thank you Maggie and Rob for your wonderful hospitality and hopefully we will see you again some day.
We have to accept, that 5 Stars are the highest evaluation, but we have to give 6: Very quiet, a so well kept house, sweet dogs and a 15-head-chicken-family giving their eggs. And of corse wonderful hosts! We hopefully will come back one day...
We had a very nice stay in the house. It is equipped with all amenities. It was very clean. A lovely gelding there. During the week we were there, only Rob was home. He took all the time to explain beautiful walks to us and to have a chat. Had some really nice conversations!
You´ll meet the very nice hosts Maggie and Rob with their 3 adorable Golden Retriever and a cat on their beautiful property, where the host´s house and the annexe is situated. The really cosy and spacious annexe is close enough to the owners house to ask questions, have a small chat or get visits from the dogs (very friendly and soo sweet!) - but still with a "border of bushes and trees" to be on your own. We´ve been welcomed very friendly. Already before our vacation Maggie answered my numerous questions without any complaint. You´ll see at once that these guys really love what they do.
For kids there´s a big garden to runaround and they even have hens. There´s a swing and a trampoline as well. A lot (!) of games inside. Tangley is smaller than a village - it´s a very quiet place with only a few houses (no shops- you have to drive to Andover). A perfect place to come back and relax from an exchausting trip. It´s for the whole family.
Thank you !
If you are looking for nice, calm place to relax, enjoy nature and live in your own small house - join this location. Nice garden and three lovely dogs make this house very suitable if you have to stay in Andover and/or surroundings.
Thank you to Maggie and Rob for this beautiful place. You can be sure that I will come back, but my third visit will be for holidays. Big hugs!
We had a fabulous stay here, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. The fresh eggs were a wonderful bonus and the dogs very friendly. We would definitely return and recommend.
Rob and Maggie were fantastic hosts and very attentive and friendly. Well situated location for days out to Highclere Castle, Blenheim Palace, Beaulieu and even a day in London via train. The garden was great for the children (ages 7-14). Football net, trampoline, table tennis table, swings and tree swing and friendly dogs to play with. The children also liked collecting eggs from the chickens. The accomodation was very comfortable and the best equiped kitchen we have experienced.
Would definitely recommend!
From the first minute we arrived Rob and Maggie were the perfect hosts. We received such a warm welcome from them and their 3 dogs and from then on it felt like we were part of the family. The annexe is so comfortable and had everything we needed. The garden is big and beautiful and the chickens laying fresh eggs every day a real bonus. The location is perfect for everything in the area with the Thai pub literally a.minutes walk away. I cannot thank Rob and Maggie enough and would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area
We love this place. Not busy. Not exciting. Close to a lot of earthy, English countryside.

About the host
Hosted by Margaret Mills and Rob Gibson
Rob and Maggie decided to buy Oakcroft and Oakcroft Annexe in 2011 to enjoy the countryside delights rural North Hampshire has to offer with their two teenage daughters, Ana and Jessica. Chickens, cats and three golden retriever dogs (Carly, Winnie and Bruno) soon followed to add to the fun. Fishing, cycling, tennis, running, walking and growing your own fruit and vegetables keep us busy when there's free time away from work or school.
Why they chose this property
The property is a fantastic, private, stylish accommodation in a beautiful, quiet, rural setting ideally placed for walking, biking, fishing and bird watching. There are spectacular views across rolling countryside mixed with beautiful woodlands and bluebells in early summer just a short distance from the property.

The village of Highclere is nearby, with the stunning Highclere Castle (of Downton Abbey fame).
