Gîte 'Chez Anna' welcomes you in Wuenheim, a wine village on the Alsace wine route.
The cottage is located at the exit of the village, away from traffic, at the foot of the famous Old Armand or Hartmannsweilerkopf. A quiet location, the surrounding nature with views of the meadows, the forest and the mountains are the prerequisites for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The house was built in the 1920s by grandparents, small winemakers as we could meet a few years ago. They produced a light and fruity table wine, a blend of muscatel, Riesling and Guewurtztraminer. Ten years ago, their son Eugène Ruhlmann, still used the utensils exposed in the basement, the wine cellar: press, barrels, still ..... were used for the development of his wine and schnapps appreciated by his friends with whom he liked to drink;
It is in this preserved family atmosphere that Odile and Raymond RUHLMANN are pleased to welcome you by sharing the traditional Kugelhopf accompanied by his glass of Alsace wine.
Outdoor facilities: in 30 acres of garden and orchard bordered by a stream, garden shed, wooden garden furniture, sun loungers, parasol, barbecue, large pool. Within a radius of 15 km many historical and cultural sites (accessible by marked routes from the cottage for hikers and mountain bikers). Horse riding in Jungholtz, Winter sports in Markstein and Grand Ballon. At Soultz St Maurice Church, Bucheneck Castle, the Toy Nave, Freunstein Castle, Old Armand or Hartmannsweilerkopf, World War I battlefield. In Guebwiller: St. Light Church, Church of Our Lady, Theodore Deck Museum, Dominican Convent, ruins of the Hugstein Castle. In Lautenbach Collegiate Church St Michel anc. Benedictine abbey, village of Jean Egen. Basilica of Our Lady of Thierenbach in Jungholtz. In Murbach Abbey founded in 728, place of pilgrimage. Mulhouse: museum of the automobile, the railway, the printing, the electricity and its Zoo. Colmar: its historical center, its museums: Unterlinden, Bartholdi, natural history and ethnography. To visit our beautiful Alsatian pitoresque villages like Riquewihr, Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, .......... In Ungersheim: Ecomuseum of Alsace and Park of the Little Prince. Beyond, the picturesque Alsace, plain, vineyard and Vosges mountains, from Wissembourg to the Porte de Bourgogne with its festivals and markets of Christmas and Germany and Switzerland nearby.
