NEWLY RENOVATED OCEAN VIEW PATIO for Nov 25. boasts the best view of any house along the beach in Drake Bay. This comfortable getaway has two bedrooms, and is steps away from 10 restaurants and 4 markets. New appliances and furniture make this place a true retreat. Scarlet Macaws, Iguanas, Anteaters and a host of colorful birds visit the property daily.

Hike into the Corcovado, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, or lounge on many beaches along the coast trail. The house is private, yet right in the center of town for your convenience and comfort.

Free WIFI

Tours, fishing and scuba diving can be booked through Debra when you make your reservation. The kitchen is fully stocked with a microwave, range, coffeepot, refrigerator, pots and pans so you can cook meals if you chose.
We also have a washer and dryer.

There are many activities such as sport fishing, scuba, wildlife tours, whale and dolphins, spear fishing, waterfall hikes, beach hikes, horse rides, ability to interact with locals at the stores, bars and restaurants.

World class scuba and snorkeling at Cano Island are right here too.

The view was amazing, and the place was well-equipped with all the amenities you could need—especially for the beach and cooking.The only suggestion I would make is improving ant control. Also, adding steps down to the ocean would make this property truly exceptional.

We actually stayed at the Big Banana house next door as there was no power available at the Binya House. No fault of the owner or property manager on the power problems as they escalated getting things back up and running. The upgrade to the bigger house was nice but the first 2 nights we only had use of 2 hvac units and no hot water so we needed to move a mattress on the floor of one of the bedrooms to get our kids cooled off. Once power was fully restored, house was great. The location and views were amazing. The outdoor space was phenomenal. House was well stocked. Close to restaurants and beach. Owner and property manager very responsive and would stay again.

Jose the concierge was the only redeeming factor, and the deck. The house is really old and run down, smelled like really bad disinfectant, the bathroom was the source of that smell, but the worst part was the amount of noise from trucks and motorcycles going by my window - 3:45AM and then from 5AM on … no sleep, left early, very disappointed. Drake Bay needs to insist on mufflers or electric vehicles. So bad!

We were underwhelmed with our stay. The property is in need of maintenance and/or upgrades to reach the price paid. Gardens are unattended to, parking is not secure, the bar/store across the street has people drinking and/or passed out on the benches. It was convenient to get ice though! To enter you walk through neighboring unit service area, because the front steps of the house have been bulldozed off by the road construction. It was all awkward. The deck is huge and a good view of the sea and beach. Also reciprocal views of the neighbors porch to the left and the storage/junk in the other side. Inside, the home is kind of sad. Furnishings are minimal, two twin beds pretending to be a sofa in the living area. Double beds with worn sheets, lumpy pillows, and a bedspread in the two bedrooms The air con works well but is loud. Shared bathroom door is awkward to open, only suitable for one person at a time-sink, toilet, shower situated side by side. The “suicide shower” used to be standard… 15 years ago. Towels are plentiful!! We had 8 in our room alone. The kitchen is lacking. Not possible to cook even a simple meal, though there are place settings suggesting you could. Lack of cookware, utensils, not one towel, sponge or soap. Caretaker was good enough to notify us two days after we left that we had left behind a device. Twelve days later we are still waiting for confirmation that it has been sent. “Manana”.

Wonderful property with great ocean views

We had a wonderful stay here. Great location, very comfortable house. Beautiful ocean and sunset views and everything we could possibly need in the cupboards. very helpful host. Answered all our questions and even helped us book a tour to Corcovado. Thank you so much for sharing your great house with us. We will definitely stay here when we come back next time!

This is a quaint little old beach house. It is nothing fancy, but comfortable with a lovely view. There is not much to walk and see, but there are a few restaurants and markets close to meet your needs. It is also an easy walk to the beach where all the boats pick-up and drop-off. We enjoyed a gorgeous 360 degree sunset the last night from this amazing vantage point.

Fantastic!

For the second year in a row we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Binya house. The location of the property is perfect, just above the bay with only a few steps into town. The house is clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary provisions. We loved watching sunset over the bay and having morning coffee on the patio with gorgeous birds galore. Drake is a nature lover’s paradise and we will absolutely be back to stay at Binya house!

I’m happy to say I picked the best place to stay in Drake Bay! The house is very comfortable, centrally located, and has a view to die for. Eric checked on us daily and helped us with whatever we needed. He took us diving and set up a zip lining tour for us. We enjoyed his company and friendship while there. We would definitely come again!

Binya House was an amazing location that wasn’t too touristy with a ton to do. Debra booked a night tour into the jungle and a day tour to NP Corcovado for us. Erick booked us a snorkeling trip to Caño Island. The house was well suited to our needs. We lived that we could cook meals and do laundry. The air conditioning was a huge plus. The views over Drake Bay were spectacular, and we really loved the diversity of birds that visited the back yard.

Excellent location & comfortable home

We loved our stay in Drake’s Bay - Debra’s home is very comfortable and has everything you need for a fantastic stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms have lots of storage room and the AC works very well in each room. We loved sitting outside with the fabulous view over the bay, especially at sunset. The house is perfectly located for day tours to Corcovado, only minutes walk to the boat pick up and drop off. Also there are many great restaurants nearby in walking distance, Kalaluna Bistro was one of our favourites! Jose was a great help and there for when we had any questions. The house was exceptionally clean and peaceful. Would recommend staying here for anyone looking to explore Drake’s Bay and Corcovado. Thank you Debra for everything!

Great stay in Drake Bay

Took two of my young teenagers to Drake Bay. The house is located on the tiny beach “cliff” over looking Drake Bay. The location is very convenient to the Grocery stores, hiking trails and restaurants. Drake Bay is a very quiet, small village and is a good adventure. The small house setup is good with two bedrooms - each with split unit ACs and open kitchen/sitting area. The hosts met us at the beach, as we took the boat from Sierpe. They helped with our luggage and drive the minute to the house. They were very knowledgeable of the area, offered great advice and can setup up tours.

Amazing Views

The view overlooking Drake Bay is amazing. The house was clean and well furnished. Air conditioners work great. Lots of foliage between the home and the beach so I got some good bird photos from the yard, even a couple hummingbirds. Jose was our contact person and met us at the home on arrival, he was easy to contact with using Whatsapp and even helped us book a night tour in Drake Bay (highly recommended). Restaurants and stores all within a couple minute walk. The pickup points for Corcovado boats and beach are also just a couple minute walk. We loved it here and would definitely stay here again.

The best location!

Binya House was perfect for our week at Bahia Drake! The house is perfectly located on a bluff overlooking the beach, which was a five minute walk down the road. The view was incredible, the house was comfortable, clean, with everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The air conditioning was a plus, and both Hank and Eric (next door neighbor and caretaker) were super helpful. There’s a trail at the end of the beach in which one can hike for hours to beautiful, secluded coves which was the highlight of our trip, and we loved coming back to the house at the end of the day for a relaxing early evening on the patio. The laid back vibe and remoteness of Drake made it the perfect location for us. We were sad to leave but will definitely return!

We did figure out the hot water in the shower but it is not something we were familiar with. I may have missed the explanation but I think something in the bathroom would be helpful.

Binya House Adventure

This property was in a central location with a great view. It was clean and was stocked with some basic items that were very helpful, such as oil, sugar, vinegar, and coffee. The air conditioning was important since it stayed very hot, even at night. Be forewarned that there was warm water for the shower, but not for anything else. That's just how it is in a small, remote village. The experience was worth it. Nearby restaurants were not expensive and they were all excellent. We cooked on the grill at the house a couple of nights, and that was great too. Jose booked our tours and taxis and was a great help. He was easy to contact since he lived in another cottage on-site. I would highly recommend this property for those who are okay with something more adventurous than a hotel.

Clean, Comfortable Home with a Million-Dollar View and Attentive Hosts

My family is so glad that we chose this property for our three-night stay in Bahía Drake! The house was spotlessly clean and included everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough outlets for charging all of our devices. The Wi-Fi worked well, when we needed it. The outside space is beautiful and comfortable and the view of Drake Bay is absolutely stunning! Getting to Drake Bay wasn’t easy, but once we arrived, we discovered that Binya House was in the perfect location with easy access to everything in town (including the beach from which many of the Corcovado tour boats launch). Things to note:- The host, Debra, and the onsite property manager, José, are incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive.- The home includes gated off-street parking, which is a huge plus given Drake’s narrow streets.- The A/C units are located in both bedrooms. There is a twin bed in the common room (no A/C), but we were easily able to fit it in a bedroom so that we could all sleep with A/C.- Although the listing mentions washer/dryer and they are included in photos of the property, they are no longer available for guest use. However, there is a laundromat right across the street and the caretaker also offered to help us with our laundry.- During our stay, the power to the whole town went out for a couple of hours. The hosts couldn’t control that, but they quickly provided candles and insights to help us stay comfortable.100% recommend!

Million Dollar View

We just go back from a week in Drake Bay staying at the Binya House. As far as location, for accommodations, you could not ask for anything more. The view from the back over looking the bay is not a million-dollar view but multi-million view. Spending time in the backyard is very relaxing with tropical birds such as Toucans, Macaws, and Parrots sharing the view with you. Drake Bay is a bird watcher’s paradise. The Binya House is well furnished and has a very nice kitchen when you don’t want to eat out. We ate half our meals in because most everything you get is fresh. What really makes staying at the Binya House a bonus is you have a local tour guide, Alex, right next door. He can arrange for fresh fish and chicken delivered right to you. He took my wife and her friend on hikes to beautiful water falls, and to out of the way beaches, where the birds mention above were, but they had monkeys entertaining them as well. Also, there are night tours and zipline tours for those a little more adventurous. If you are into scuba diving, Drake Bay and Cano Island are world class. Costa Rica is very protective of it natural beauty and the ocean is not exception. Large southern rays, eels, white tip sharks, and large schools of Jacks and other fish, were all common on my dives. Debra, the owner. is very helpful in preparing you for your stay there as far what to bring and what to not bring. Worth every penny. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Great house in a wonderful town

This place was fantastic. The view of Drake Bay from the back lawn was beautiful. The location is in the heart of town, just a short walk up the road gets you to the two grocery markets and a quick walk down the hill gets you to the beach. The host, Kim, was incredible and helped us book tours to Corcovado and Isla Cano. Drake Bay is an incredibly amazing town, quiet and peaceful compared to other destinations in Costa Rica and this house was a perfect place for us to stay to enjoy. Can’t wait to go back

Drake Bay is a very small town, and this house is right in the middle of it, within a very short walk to the stores and restaurants, and overlooking the Bay. Other available properties are immersed more within the jungle canopy, amid the trees and animals, but farther from town. All options, including this one are great. It is a trade off though. I did expect to see more wildlife at this home, but saw very little other than hummingbirds. Loved the washer/dryer, kitchen, air conditioning, affordability, property owner, and location. Spoke to many locals and tour guides. They all knew this house and owner. They all had very good things to say about this owner and her contributions to the community.
