About this property
JDV Holidays Maison Oranger - charachterful with courtyard garden, near Cannes
This historical 17th century, three bedroom town house, with courtyard-garden is within walking distance of the many shops, cafes and restaurants of the charming old town of Le Cannet, in Cannes. Fully air-conditioned, the house has been renovated and fashioned in a contemporary style, yet still retaining lots of lovely old charm.
With a magnificent winding staircase, the house is set over 3 levels and is approximately 120 sq metres in size. It comprises on the Ground-floor level a lovely entrance hall, large shower/laundry room, independent WC, door to rear courtyard garden and independent bedroom with en-suite bathroom; then the First-floor has cosy living room, large kitchen, dining room and balcony; then second (top) floor has master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a further twin bedroom.
It’s in a very central location in the village and has quick & easy access to Cannes, its beaches and the A8 auto route.
It has a maximum occupancy of 8 people (plus babies) and would be perfect for a large family, group of friends, or business travellers attending one of the many Festivals in Cannes.
Living room: is upstairs on the first floor and is very cosy with a large sofa-bed, fireplace, large plasma television (international channels), HI-FI and views over the courtyard garden.
Dining room: also on the first floor, adjacent to the kitchen with a large table and 6 chairs (possibility of 10), air conditioning unit and small library of books.
Kitchen: is very large & bright and fully equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, iron and ironing board. There is a washing machine and a dryer downstairs in the shower room. There's a balcony with small table and chairs and views over the garden below.
Bedrooms: three in total. On the second (top) floor there are two good-sized bedrooms, both with two single beds (90x200cm or doubles when placed together). One of the bedrooms has a fireplace, a cupboard with washbasin and double French doors leading out onto small balcony. The other has a lovely antique wardrobe, fireplace, large en-suite bathroom and small sea view. The third bedroom is independent from the main house, located on the ground floor and accessed from the garden – ideal for those wanting separate quarters, like teenagers or au-pair. It’s furnished with two single beds (90x200 or double) and has an en-suite bathroom. In the living room the sofa bed is suitable for a further two people. All bedrooms and the living room have air conditioning units.
Bathrooms: three in total. A spacious, contemporary shower-room on the ground floor with shower cubicle and spa jets! There’s also an independent WC adjacent. The master bedroom has a large en-suite with a large Italian shower, washbasin, WC, dressing area and hairdryer. The ground floor bedroom has lovely modern en-suite, with over bath shower, washbasin and WC.
Outside: there is a lovely secure, south-facing courtyard garden with a lovely olive tree, orange tree and vine. It’s recently been redesigned and is great for alfresco dining with table, four chairs and barbeque. There are 2 sun loungers to enjoy the summer sun. Free-of-charge parking for one car on the street but it's never guaranteed; a bollard has recently been installed at the entrance of the street, blocking access to non-residents and you will be provided with a remote control to access the villa. This will improve the parking facilities on the street. Alternatively there are lots of parking lots around (six currently) either free or paying ones, plus you can park for free in the streets during the day and at night on the boulevard.
Internet: connection (Wi-Fi and ADSL) is available for your laptop.
Baby facilities: baby cot available upon request.
Winter heating: included in the rental cost. This property also has air-conditioning.
Gas, electric, & water: all included in the rental cost.
End-of-stay cleaning, bed & bathroom linen and local management: is priced separately and is 250 Euros per booking, collected on behalf of the owner upon reservation.

Reviews from our own website:
Dear Paul, everything was great, thank you for keeping in touch all the time and the lovely und charming location. Very personal decoration with nice garden in a friendly neighbourhood - Mr T. from Germany, July 22.
Beautiful house, and comfortable for our family. Well equipped kitchen. However house had not been checked to ensure everything was in place. Painting had been done prior to us coming & as a result satellite TV was not working and DVD player had did have a lovely week, they were only little things really - we only missed the TV and DVD player really on Christmas day when it was pouring with rain and we were full of food! It is a very beautiful house though, and the area is great for access to shops, restaurants, and other parts of the region. Will let you know when we need another place! .(JDV say: things have been addressed with the local representative) - Mrs A. from Qatar, Dec 13.
A beautiful house, well equipped, with a lovely courtyard garden (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied - Ms G. from Brussels, July 10.
Maison Oranger was a wonderful place to stay. It was exactly what we were looking for lots of character and charm. We would love to stay there again! - Mrs T from Valencia, Aug 07.

Why they chose this property
We stayed in this lovely, old villa last week and it was perfect for us. The description and photos are entirely accurate but cannot convey the delightful feeling of seclusion and peace the villa offers. The large dining table was great for big family meals and the garden, sitting under the olive tree, was ideal for warm summer evenings. The property was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The manager was a delight, making us feel very welcome and offering help, if needed, through the week (the wi-fi was down and he spent a whole morning trying to get it mended by the supplier). The newly unshuted Bonnard Museum, less than 5 mins walk away, is highly recommended. Five floors of fully air-conditioned, well presented material with an interesting local history. A car is really not necessary to stay in this house. Parking can be a problem and the nearby bus service into Cannes is excellent. So long as they could negotiate the lovely spiral staircase, I would unreservedly recommend this house to friends, it is a beautiful place to stay - Mrs O. from Staffordshire, June 11.
The week in your villa at Le Cannet was absolutely charming, the place is so quiet, peaceful and safe, but at the same time so near to Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo and many other exciting places and beaches worth to see and enjoy. The house and its location is very interesting for its antiquity, but at the same time you did a real good job furnishing it with all necessary modern equipment to make life easier and comfortable We loved Le Cannet as a town, we spent wonderful moments in the little terrace, as well as in the restaurants above, and I can assure you that if we come back to France, we will surely contact you to be able to enjoy that cozy home again - Mrs F. from Chile, June 07.
