July fishing vacation
The property is AMAZING! I am used to bringing some much of my own things and this property had many of those items. The DOGS loved the acres of fields they were able to run. Longer distance (gravel) than we would have liked to drive to a boat launch but that is country staying. :)

Quiet and Relaxing
We enjoyed our stay while fishing for walleye on Lake Oahe. There were eight of us with three boats. We cooked breakfast and was on the water by 9 am with limits of walleye by 2 pm leaving plenty of time for story telling and evening grilling. Some of the guys caught catfish from shore during evening sunset. What a great experience for all of us! We thank Lorie for being a great host and being so responsive to our inquiries.

About the host

My father and step mother purchased the ranch in 1998 to enjoy the wonderful fishing and hunting this region has to offer. It provided them with both crop land and grassland for grazing. The views from the hillside of the 50 mile long and 3 mile wide Oahe Reservoir on the Missouri River are breathtaking.

Why they chose this property

Our younger years were spent in the bustling city of Minneapolis. Privacy and wide open spaces drew us here. My father loved to fish walleye. The abundance of large walleye in the Missouri River made it an easy choice. And then there is the pheasant, dove, deer, goose and duck hunting.

They had so many friends and family visiting and enjoying the area that we decided to open a lodge in 2015 for others to enjoy. The Lodge is owned by RIP B & B LLC.

What makes this property unique

A favorite day would be to go fishing and come back for breakfast. Then a drive around the ranch to check the cattle and crops. The drive also allowed us to see deer, coyote, fox, ducks, geese, pheasant, hawks, owls, ground hogs and other wildlife too. A walk to the river for a swim in the summer. Fall would mean a hunting outing for whatever was in season. Spring would mean time to fix fence. If time permitted, a cookout on the shoreline at night or picnic dinner enjoying the sounds of nature. Star gazing without the interference of lights is wonderful out here. When the northern lights appear they are vivid green, red and yellow.
