About this property

A traditional country house with a swimming pool near ALBI and NAJAC.

La Châtaigne is a gite that is completely surrounded by oak and chestnut forests in the stunning Viaur Valley on the edge of the small, quiet hamlet Saint-Dalmaze.

La Châtaigne has been recently renovated and can sleep up to 6 people, with 2 comfortable and light bedroooms, a spacious living room, a bathroom and a spacious kitchen (with a table) opening onto a big wooden terrace which has superb views over the garden, the organic farm opposite and the swimming pool. The gite opens onto a south facing enclosed courtyard which is perfect for eating out under a parasol -where there is also a yoga studio and two extra bathrooms which you can use for an agreed price with the owners.

We are currently building a swimming pool (5x5 metres) with a surrounding wooden terrace which is below the large wooden terrace from the kitchen. The owners can use this pool but the clients have the priority.

The nearest village Laguepie is 6 km away, with restaurants, 2 small supermarkets a news agents, bakery and a butchers. We are ideally situated in the heart of the Midi-Pyrenees within close proximity of the famous and beautiful villages of Najac and Cordes which are only 15 minutes from the gite. Also, Albi and its impressive Cathedral is less than a 40 minutes drive away.

We live in the house next to the gite so we are always here if you need us.

endroit très calme et isolé. bien anticiper ses courses avant d'y aller. wifi lente et peu de réseau. piscine très bien entretenue exclusivement réservée aux vacanciers. propriétaires très discrets qui prennent des nouvelles et sont de bons conseils pour les sorties. literie top ! on n'a jamais aussi bien dormi !!!

notre hôtesse qui habite sur le lieu avait juste oublié de nous prévenir qu'elle serait absente lors de notre arrivée et elle ne répondait pas à notre message... au bout d'une demi-heure nous sommes rentrés dans la location dont la porte était grande ouverte certainement à notre intention mais nous ne savions pas !? logement très vieux pas confortable , odeur de moisi, S.D.B. en piteux état, fenêtres pourries.... etc.. bref, nous , nous n'y reviendrons pas ! Mais la propriétaire reste très sympathique . la région est magnifique beaucoup de choses à visiter. Par chance nous avons eu beau temps donc nous partions la journée entière. Il suffirait de quelques travaux....

Un gîte agréable avec une belle terrasse en bois. La nature est splendide, le repos assuré. La piscine permet de se rafraîchir et de se détendre. Excellente communication avec les hôtes malgré leur absence dans le respect et la confiance réciproque. Je reviendrai !
