About this property

Peace and tranquility in the heart of Scotland

Inviting self catering apartment set in the grounds of the Huntingtower Hotel. The apartment is one of four in a converted building dating back to the early 1900s. It mixes old charm with modern essentials. The apartment is on the first and second floors with the two bedrooms on the lower floor; one king size bedroom and one twin room. The living area is on the upper floor with velux windows enjoying views over the six acres of beautiful landscaped gardens in the country hotel estate. There is a modern kitchen with all the essentials for a hassle free holiday (dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker, and plenty of crockery and cutlery). There is a utility room situated on the lower floor for washing and drying facilities after a day exploring the surrounding area.

Huntingtowerfield is the perfect location for all Scotland has to offer. For the walkers there are many Munros less than an hour away as well as the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. For the golfers there is an abundance of championship golf within easy reach including Carnoustie, Gleneagles and St. Andrews. The cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow both offering their own charm are an hour by car from the apartment. Perth is literally five minutes away by car offering plenty of nightlife of its own with many quality restaurants and bars. In the winter the skiing at Glenshee again is only just over an hour away at the southern end of the Cairngorms National Park.

About the host

Host profile image
I am originally from Perth and wanted to recapture my roots by buying a property with easy access to all of Scotland's fabulous scenery. I love the great outdoors and Perthshire offers all of this in abundance. I previously ran a holiday business in Skye for seven years so I have a lot of experience in helping people get the most from their hard earned holidays by offering tips on things to do and making sure our apartment is a home from home.

Why they chose this property

I rented this property myself 10 years when the previous owner first started letting it. We remarked how cosy and home from home the property was and promised to return. Now we have and plan to use our experience in holiday letting to give all our guests a most memorable and pleasurable time in Scotland. The apartment literally is located as the gateway to all Scotland has to offer.

What makes this property unique

Location, location, location. All of Scotland's unique and beautiful scenery is reachable from the apartment on a day trip. The Highlands to the North, golf and much more to the East, the rugged mountains of the West and the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow to the South are all easily reachable on a day trip. You don't even need to get in your car with plenty of walking right outside the apartment and of course breakfast / lunch / dinner at the hotel is a 30 second stroll!
