About this property
“Couples’ Cozy Cabin – King Bed, Walk to Geneva Lake”
Staying at Harbor View feels like the best of both worlds: a cozy, woodsy-cabin retreat with modern comforts, while also putting you right where all the lakefront charm, outdoor adventure, and small-town Wisconsin hospitality converge. You wake up, maybe walk to the lake, enjoy a day of swimming or hiking or browsing local shops, come back to fire up a grill or relax on the deck — all without needing to drive far.
What makes our property truly unique is its blend of location, history, and the classic lake-cabin feeling that has become increasingly rare around Geneva Lake. Our family has owned and cared for this property since 1970, and over the decades we’ve welcomed multiple generations of returning guests who now think of this place as their “home away from home.” That sense of familiarity, warmth, and tradition is something you simply don’t find everywhere.
The property sits just 1,500 feet from the Geneva Lakefront, yet it still offers the peaceful character of a quiet neighborhood—close to the beach, marina, parks, restaurants, and the iconic lake path. Very few properties today remain this close to the lake while still preserving the original charm of the area: the cozy cabin feel, the woods, the sense of old-time lake living, and the slower pace that makes vacations memorable.
We also take pride in running this as a family business, not a corporate rental. Guests appreciate the personal touch, the long-standing relationships we’ve built, and the knowledge that they’re staying somewhere that has been loved and cared for over 50 years. It’s this combination of location, history, and genuine hospitality that makes our property stand out from the rest.

The location of this cabin could not be beat-- quick, easy walk to the gorgeous lake and town of Williams Bay, which offers a few lovely eateries, a swimming beach, and a park. You can also hop right on the famous shore path within minutes of the cabin, which is a must-do experience while at Geneva Lake. The rustic cabin we stayed in (#78) was roomy and ideal for traveling with a dog, as there is plenty of green space and walkability built in, and the property is very quiet, as it's sort of built into a residential area. We also liked how close we were to other towns around Geneva Lake, like Fontana (go to Gordy's for a drink then hop on a different segment of the shore path). Just a note: we had zero luck with breakfast in Williams Bay (a google search indicates a place is open at 8am... and it's just not), so stock up on some provisions for that or take the short drive into Lake Geneva (the town proper) for blocks and blocks of options.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us. We appreciate you bringing the leaking stool to our attention, and the issue was addressed and fixed right away.
We take great pride in keeping our cabins clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Our overall guest rating of 8.8 from 75 reviews reflects the positive experiences of many of our guests, particularly when it comes to cleanliness, comfort, location, and value.
We also work hard to keep our cabins reasonably priced for the Williams Bay and Lake Geneva area while providing guests with a comfortable place to stay close to the lake and local attractions.
We appreciate your comments regarding the TV location, dish storage, and coffee cups as well. We continually review guest feedback and make improvements where appropriate. Thank you again for your stay.
A very clean, cozy Wisconsin cabin. Great location within lovely Williams Bay and nearby Lake Geneva and Lake Como. The host Jim is a very approachable person and available whenever you need. The property is well maintained and is peaceful. Study up on your early American history because the host knows his stuff. Thanks for a great stay. Looking forward for a return trip in the future.
Nice weekend getaway. Cabin was very nice and in a good neighborhood. We stayed for a concert at Alpine Valley & the drive was easy (after getting a tip from the owner). Would definitely stay here again!
This was a lovely cabin for our weekend stay. Our host, Jim, was so kind! We felt comfortable and safe having our dog there. The cabin itself was clean and cozy. Definitely plan on returning for another trip!

The cabin was a perfect fit for a weekend getaway for my family including our dog and young son. The cabin was meticulously clean and well located so we were able to take some day hikes, trips for ice cream and to several parks. We did a bonfire one evening and really enjoyed all the location had to offer!

Great location, quiet, very comfortable. Only bedroom had air conditioning with a ceiling fan. Kitchen and living area just had a ceiling fan, it was 90 and humid outside when we stayed, so it was a little uncomfortable in those areas,. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee, would’ve been nice to have couple small packages of coffee in the morning.
Great Location for Lake Geneva and Williams Bay area. Host was very nice and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Neighborhood was very safe. Enjoyed our weekend - relaxing no hassle experience. Hope to return.

Thank you Jaclyn! It was such a pleasure meeting you and your family, especially your Father! He was so interesting. Happy you found us, we try to give you an unique experience found no where else in the Lake Geneva area.
Awesome price, place, location, and host! Genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better time. The cabin was the perfect amount of space for myself and my partner plus our dog (who LOVED the yard). Location was a huge convenience - easy access to the beach/water as well as Main St. Also the little grocery store you pass as you enter the property had anything we would need for our trip. I will definitely be staying again. Thanks Jim!
Jim was very timely in responding to questions & brought extra towels & bedding for the couch. The cabin had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The location was perfect; we attended a sunrise wedding on Fontana Beach, a brunch reception in Linn, & a backyard celebration in William’s Bay - all in one day! Enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you, Jim!

A Little History of Williams Bay & Harbor View
Williams Bay has been welcoming lake visitors for nearly two centuries. What began as a Potawatomi settlement and later a small pioneer community grew into one of Geneva Lake’s most loved resort villages, attracting families, boaters, and vacationers from Chicago and beyond.
Harbor View Motel & Cabins are part of that tradition. Our family has owned and cared for this property since 1970, during a time when Williams Bay was still filled with classic lake cabins, mom andpop motels, and long-time summer families. We’ve had the pleasure of hosting generations of returning guests many who still come back year after year for the same reasons: the beach, the fishing, the lake walks, and the familiar shops and restaurants that make Williams Bay feel like home.
What makes Harbor View special is that it still reflects the old-time Lake Geneva era where you’re close to the water, surrounded by trees, and part of a quiet neighborhood, yet just steps from everything that makes the village come alive in summer. In a region where many historic properties have been replaced by large developments, we’re proud to preserve a place that feels like the Geneva Lake families remember.
We’re grateful to share this piece of Williams Bay history with you and look forward to helping you create your own lake memories.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it represents everything we love about Williams Bay and Geneva Lake a peaceful, walkable lakeside setting with deep roots and a true sense of community. Our family has been here since 1970, and over the years we’ve watched this area grow while still keeping the charm that makes people fall in love with it.
What makes this spot special is how close it is to the lakefront, beach, marina, and village shops, yet it still feels quiet and relaxed. You can walk to everything, enjoy the shoreline, grab ice cream, or take a stroll along the lake path, then come back to a calm neighborhood surrounded by trees and lake breezes. It’s that rare mix of convenience, character, and classic Geneva Lake charm that keeps guests and generations of families coming back year after year.
What makes this property unique
What truly sets our property apart is its rare combination of location, history, and classic Geneva Lake charm. Our family has owned and cared for Harbor View since 1970, and over the decades we’ve welcomed multiple generations of returning guests many of whom now think of this place as their “home away from home.” That kind of connection and continuity is something you simply can’t recreate.
