About this property

B & B (king-size bed) in a house situated on a hill overlooking the castle of Leiria. It offers a double en-suite bedroom. A second bedroom (double bed) can be spared only in case of a 3rd (or 4th) guests traveling together (children or friends). "Room with a View" has a balcony with an independent way out to the terrace and garden. Full equipped kitchen at the guests' disposal.

Surrounded by nature, it is only 10 minutes walking down to the city center. As it is situated on the top of a hill is advised. Leiria, a small but pretty town, is in an ideal position for overnight accommodation for anyone going to and from Porto and Lisbon. Likewise for anyone who enjoys the Ocean, UNESCO monuments or religious tourism (Fatima Sanctuary).

Lovely and memorable

Our stay was wonderful and gave us a great taste of life in Central Portugal. The home is beautiful, very clean and well appointed and surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. Best of all is the cobblestone patio with an amazing view of Castelo Leiria. Our host, Luisa, is a very special person to us now. She was so accommodating, kind and helpful. Getting to know her was a highlight of our trip and we are forever grateful to her.

Nice view of the castle

The place is clean and comfortable. The host is very nice and made sure we found dinner on a day when many places were closed. The room includes a patio sitting area next to the garden. As the castle is lit-up at night, it is a nice place to sit and have tea before going to bed. The location is away from the city center, but takes only 5 minutes by car to get to it. Probably too far to walk. It is a little hard to find as the entrance to the road that passes in front of the house as it is inside a fenced area and the road itself is 2 rows of cobblestone. The driveway is not marked, but is easy to spot once you know to look for it. The VRBO map is accurate and I plotted the Google coorindates before leaving home. Easy parking on the property.
