My sister-in-law and I rented Dorine's house for a Haarlem / Amsterdam getaway with my two nieces (aged 16 and 19). The property looked wonderful on the site, and was even better, I would say, in real life. The house was full of light, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a really sweet little garden / patio in the back. Communication with Dorine was very easy, and she gave great suggestions for the neighborhood and sites close to Haarlem including bicycling and restaurant tips, in addition to explaining all the appliances etc. We liked the house so much, we were sad we hadn’t rented it for longer when we left to move into Amsterdam! Note: it is a given in the Netherlands, I think, but note that the stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep. That wasn’t a problem for us, but those with mobility issues would need to take care. Also, if you get lazy like us, the #2 bus from the station will get you quite close - and back, as well as into downtown Haarlem easily. We usually walked but were happy to have the bus a couple of times. We cooked in three nights, and the kitchen worked well for us, and we loved having the dining table right there. There are three grocery stores, one super close, and the other two not much further. The appliances, pots and pans etc were in great shape, and you had every spice or oil you might need.Just to sum up, this was a lovely home that we feel privileged to have stayed in for a few days !
