About this property

Oceanfront - Private Beach!

Our spectacular beach property is 'On The Sand,' offering its own private beach while providing white water views and soothing ocean sounds (you hear the surf in every room). It has a bright beachy decor and a quiet location - conveniently located halfway between the Village in Carlsbad and the Pier in Oceanside (we walk on the sand to both).

This completely renovated home is fully furnished (we relax here frequently) and offers sweeping ocean views from La Jolla to Catalina. You can watch the dolphins play or the whales spout from the living room, deck, or beach.

At night, visit one of the area's fine restaurants or simply dine on the beach while watching the beautiful sun set over the Pacific. During the day, relax on the beach or enjoy the numerous activities that are unique to this fabulous destination.

This listing is for UNIT B.

UNIT B (sleeps 1 to 6): Has 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms and has a California king size bed in the master bedroom, a full size on the bottom and twin on top (bunk bed) in the guest bedroom, and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

There are 3 different units. Unit A (2 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 6), Unit B (2 Bd, 2 Ba - sleeps 6), and Unit C (1 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 4). Unit A is VRBO #882233, Unit C is VRBO #253036, and all 3 units are VRBO #882235.

The units are vertically arranged with Unit A at the street level, Unit B in the middle, and Unit C at the sand level. All 3 units face the ocean, have oceanfront decks, and share the private beach.

Our beach house is 'well cared for' since we personally (as well as our family) stay in all 3 units, and we do have wireless broadband internet access. Over the years, we have had 100s of delighted beach loving guests.

Perfect oceanfront getaway!

Nice place to stay with incredible views from the large balcony. Loved being right on the oceanfront and walking the beach with the kiddos at low tide. Made for a great stay in Oceanside!

Short trip for a lacrosse tournament

We had a blast! We were here for a short stay for a lacrosse tournament for my son. This was the perfect location - easy to get to restaurants and entertainment. The beach was amazing. Fantastic sunsets and the boys even got in some surfing - so nice to have to right in the backyard. Will be back for sure!

Family getaway

This was the most perfect spot for my family. We have never done a trip like this before and we enjoyed it to the fullest. My twin 3 year olds had the best time. We loved the gated sand area. We hope to be back

Beach life

Unit B was so cute and clean. We enjoyed our own porch. Loved the views and beach backyard. I slept in the king size bedroom and the mattress was firm and good quality. The owner was very accessible and friendly. Neighborhood was beautiful. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

Grateful for the memories, amazing place, outstanding host...a million stars!!

We absolutely loved staying here with our two young kids and made amazing memories. The place itself is very nice, and has everything we wanted and more. The oceanfront presence is nothing short of amazing. The sound of the waves when you sleep at night and wake in the morning is beautiful. And then, you open the doors and that same sound just envelops the place, and for ocean lovers like us, again, did I mention amazing?! AMAZING!!! Working with Kelley was a pleasure and knowing she's always improving the place (and its already great!) and really takes an interest in making sure the place is one where you can make great memories with your loved ones is awesome. Walking the oceanfront to breakfast at the Buccaneer Cafe which had very good coffee and food was great! You get a real sense of the locals who were very cool. The fenced-in sand backyard is great; kids can experience playing in the sand, using the toys provided to build sand castles and play together. When we want to go down to the ocean, the rocks (which I read in a previous review were a challenge for somebody else) were an absolute breeze for my wife and I, and we were carrying our kids down, too (almost 2 & 3 year olds). Once you take a trip down the rocks solo (there's a handrail for support if needed) and back up, you learn its pretty much a cake walk. Please, don't let that deter you from enjoying this amazing place unless you know you'd have a hard time with very slightly more challenging stairs. My wife and I are definitely well past our athletic primes and we wouldn't hesitate to go down to the water with the kids. From the balcony of our 2nd floor residence during the afternoon, we spotted a couple dolphins and a seal (or sea lion?) out in the water... very, very cool, and they were just beyond where the surfers are awaiting the break of waves. You see surfers, especially in the morning and evening when the waves really get kicking! The local food scene is pretty much anything you want it to be. The farmers market was really pleasant, there's a host of great breakfast places, and one of the days we didn't want to miss the sunset, we had a giant bucket of seafood deliciousness delivered! We will 100% be back and have been trying to recruit family to go with and rent other floors with us to make it a big affair with the cousins (that'd be a blast! There are 6 of them ages 1-4). I'd love to have the other families make memories as amazing as ours, and preferable with us!

Great location. The noise from other renters was unpleasant. Sounds travel easily through floor and ceiling. Sounded like unit a renters were pacing back and forth and dropping a medicine ball through most of the night.

Fantastic property right on the beach. My wife and I stayed in the middle unit (B). The porch is quite large with comfortable seating. The private beach is easy to access down the stairs along the side of the building. The private beach is elevated from the public beach, through a gate and down well maintained stairs about 15 feet where a rock barrier protects the properties. At high tide the public beach is largely inaccessible, but at low tide there is plenty of beach area. The charcoal Webber grill is in good shape, and if you bring firewood there is a fire ring you can use to grill s’mores under the stars. We stayed in early September and the weather was perfect. A little overcast some mornings but sunny by late morning with temps in the high 70s to low 80s. We brought all our food, and didn’t go out even one time. The kitchen had everything we needed. The host is attentive, helpful, and friendly. We will be back!

Perfect get away

We wanted to eat, sleep and hear the ocean and boy did this place deliver. The buccaneer has the best food right down the street. We will definitely be back. Unit B is the place to be. The weather was perfect. too. Kelley was very attentive as well.

Loved the private beach and views

We enjoyed the condo, especially the views of the ocean, parking was never an issue. Bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked. The master bathroom did not have soap or shampoo, which was a slight inconvenience. There was quite a bit of noise from the renters over us, again annoying but nothing that was in the control of the property managers. We would stay there again and would recommend the place, it was priced well for the location, accommodations and views.

So nice to be right on the beach

Being right on the beach was so fun. Having the fantastic ocean view made our stay magical. We saw dolphins swim by every day, and at low tide the beach is right there. At high tide the waves crash up on the rocks which was also fun, even though it makes getting to the beach less realistic.

Cozy family-friendly beachside

The perfect spot for a family with young kids. The fenced in beach was an amazing play area. Conveniently located to downtown Oceanside. Would book again.

Nice place to stay

The property has a super view and easy access to beaches. Two bathrooms are a plus. Restaurants and attractions are close by in both Oceanside and Carlabad. One can get lost in watching the ocean and the surf from the deck.

Majestic location

Everyone in the family had a great time. The deck is splendid, looking out on the surfers, and my wife did her yoga practice and art work out there. A spectacular breakfast spot. The kids loved the bunk bed, the sandy backyard with abundant toys, imitating yoga poses, even the bath. The kitchen was very well equipped and a lot of cooking was done. The beds were very comfortable and the sound of the waves, a lullaby. The owner was super responsive and went out of her way to make everything perfect. The washer and dryer were essential but putting in quarters shouldn't be necessary. Get there or be unfashionably absent.

Great Bday beach weekend

We stayed Thursday to Monday. Great location, best beach for walking once low tide comes. We spent most of our time on the balcony watching dolphins and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Would definitely stay here again.

We had long desired to have a beachfront home and when we found this gem we were thrilled. We selected this area because it is right in the middle of a beautiful wide sandy beach that stretches for 3 miles from the village of Carlsbad to the pier in Oceanside. We also liked the fact that the house was located in a less dense area with mostly beach homes. Most of all we were excited by the private beach and the fact that we didn’t have to cross a street or get in a car to enjoy the ocean!
