Madrid and Granada Trip from Barcelona

My son and I planned a short trip to Madrid to see some history as well as to go to Granada to see Alhambra. It was a lot to pack into 3 days but staying at the Madrid de los Austrias I made it easier. We loved the restaurants that lined the street and the old world charm of the buildings. The small balcony view was sweet. And the staircase was a thing of beauty! Note that we booked a taxi for the rides to/from the train station and into the city center for touring Madrid. The apartment is basically 3 rooms: a small bedroom and a sitting room/kitchen with a very small bathroom. all good. Just right for 2 people. We appreciated the nice gift bag provided by the host, as well as the toiletries and kitchen supplies. Easy electronic lock so check in/out was very easy.

Functional apartment in a great neighborhood

This is a functional small apartment in a cool, lively neighborhood. All sorts of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, various entertainment, a grocery store. Walking distance to the palace and park & many sites. The hosts were very nice & make check in pretty easy and answered quickly when we had a question. Gets noisy late at night. People in neighboring condo were very noisy despite the no party rules. Some issues were no basic kitchen supplies like salt, pepper, oil. Two nonstick pans there were very worn. Upon arrival we found the shower floor had a big hole in the corner that I reported immediately & was questioned if we had done it. If we left it, the water would have gone through to the downstairs. We found that a ceiling to floor shower caddy had been ripped out by maintenance & left in the kitchen. We contacted the hosts immediately who were quick to respond & arranged for maintenance to patch the hole which they did. The shower water pressure is good but the shower very small. There is no place for soap, shampoos, and easy to hit the tap when moving about. The bed & pillows were comfortable. Nice sheets. There is A/C and a fan. There were no nightstands as it’s a small room and you can only get out of bed on one side. Overall the place doesn’t look quite as nice as the pictures, but it was functional, clean, and in a really cool part of Madrid.

Vacances à Madrid

L'appartement est très bien placé. Dans une rue avec bars à tapas. Proche de la plaza Mayor et du palais royal. On peut y aller à pied 🤗
