Hopes House lies among rolling hills in the beautiful Cumbrian Borders, 7 miles from Longtown. Well positioned for visiting the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Lake, the Solway coast, Kirklinton Hall, Hidden River Cabins, Lanercost Priory and the pretty market town of Brampton. Walby Farm Park is nearby - great for children's entertainment. Beautiful local walks. Guests can roam on the farmland around the house (we politely ask that gates are shut and livestock not disturbed). Guests will enjoy two cosy sitting rooms with TV and DVD player, comfy sofas and log fires. There is also a boot room, should guests have pets (which are welcome provided they are kept off carpeted rooms). There are four double bedrooms, one en-suite. Three bathrooms, one with a shower + bath, the others with just baths. There is a big stone barn with a ping pong table and a darts board. There is a large newly-built decking area with views across the Lakes and Pennines - perfect spot for a drink or a BBQ which you are welcome to use (please bring/buy your own charcoal and food etc). Scilla will be your hostess and her son, Tom Dillon, will usually be there to help her. This is a remote area, therefore, restaurants/pubs are in the vicinity but range from 3 to 7 miles away from the house. We hope that you enjoy your stay.
