About this property

Stunning elevated luxury apartment with amazing views over Loch Ness

Nestling in the hillside above Loch Ness with fabulous views, 'The Loft at Log Ness' is the perfect retreat for guests looking for a rural Highland experience whilst being within reach of local amenities and the Highland capital of Inverness. The Loft at Log Ness is a cosy apartment thoughtfully equipped with everything to make your stay enjoyable. It has a high standard of fixtures/fittings and equipment, with furnishings also to a high standard. The Loft is a cosy, peaceful bolt-hole for two and there’s a bed settee in case a space is needed for a third person. Outside there is a raised balcony with glass balustrade and seating to enjoy the incredible views over Loch Ness and for dining al fresco. There is access to a large private outside area with a picnic bench, perfect if you’ve brought your four-legged friend with you. Inside there is an open plan kitchen, dining and seating area with a feature Juliette-balcony style roof window that has simply stunning views over Loch Ness and the mountains opposite. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, full size oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, 4-slot toaster, coffee maker and all the cooking utensils and equipment anyone could need. There is also a washing machine and dish-washer. The sitting room has a large smart TV (operating off Wi Fi), Bose bluetooth docking station and plenty of books and games for those cold winter nights. The real feature of The Loft is the views over the Loch. In the summer, a myriad of craft can be seen cruising up and down the Loch or traversing the Caledonian Canal. With the aid of binoculars, you can pick out people walking in the mountains opposite. Facing West, the propety enjoys sunshine all day in the summertime until late into the night. Being situated in the village of Foyers means the local pub, The Craigdarroch, is just a few minutes walk away. Within a 15 minute walk guests will find the famous Falls of Foyers, the village shop, post office and ice cream emporium with the Waterfall Cafe next door. On the outskirts of Foyers Cameron's Tearoom can be found and a short drive away the next hamlet, Whitebridge, has a cosy pub serving excellent food and drink. A 15 minute walk away, on the shores of Loch Ness at Foyers Pier, during the summer, you will find Beastie Boats offering RIB boat rides and a luxury motor boat offering Loch cruises. Slightly further away is the iconic, picturesque town of Fort Augusts with its historic Caledonian Canal lock-gate system and, toward Inverness, the hamlet of Dores with its views almost the entire length of Loch Ness, pebble beach and the charming Dores Inn (currently being renovated as @ 2025). Inverness itself is less than a half an hour drive away and the bridge to Skye approximately 2 hours. The area attracts visitors who are keen on outdoor activities both land and water based. The area is also teeming with wildlife including deer, badger, red squirrel, pine marten and many birds of prey. All these are regularly sighted in and around Foyers and most of them in the garden at the Loft itself. The Loft at Log Ness offers a charming base for the discerning visitor to this beautiful and relatively undiscovered corner of Loch Ness. (Please note that if you are bringing a dog the staircase to the loft is a spiral one).

About the host

Hi, we are Sian and Phil and we moved to the Highlands in 2016. We purchased our plot overlooking Loch Ness and have built our beautiful house in its own large grounds with its immense garage offering us the opportunity to develop The Loft at Log Ness above it. Originally from Wales and England respectively we moved to Scotland which we both love. We look forward to helping to make many happy memories for visitors to this beautiful location.

Why they chose this property

Log Ness is situated in the ever-popular village of Foyers with its amenities that include a shop and post office, two tea rooms, a pub that serves food. Log Ness is surrounded by wonderful countryside with endless walking opportunities and local attractions such as the Falls of Foyers, General Wade's Military Road and activities on Loch Ness itself. Although the village is only a ten minute walk away the property sits in its own generous grounds with plenty of private parking and stunning views over the Loch and the mountains opposite. There is an abundance of wildlife including birds of prey, different species of deer, badgers, pine marten and not forgetting the much-loved red squirrel. During high season there are plenty of activities either in Foyers or in Inverness or Fort Augustus including Loch cruises or fast RIB rides, canoe hire, bike hire, guided wildlife walks, archery and plenty more.

What makes this property unique

The Loft has views that are difficult to rival and peace and tranquility whilst being less than half an hour from Inverness in one direction and Fort Augustus in the other. With no near neighbours there is peace and tranquility and plenty of outside space for four-legged friends.
