Lovely cottage very peaceful.
Lovely cottage very peaceful. Down side for us no immediate walks for our dog which would have been ideal so had to drive out though not too far. Didn’t think we would miss the WiFi, we did 😙. If you’re prepared to drive to see the beauty of Dumfries n Galway you’re in for a treat, stunning. Great pub 12 miles away Clachin Inn excellent food and reasonable prices for the drinks. I would also advise you take Midge repellent, the little beasties were in full swing

We had a wonderful time in Swallow Lodge. The perfect place to relax and appreciate nature. Jean and Steve were so welcoming and helpful. A highlight was seeing the two deer who came to visit. The lodge could not have been cleaner, which was especially appreciated during these times. We hope hope to return soon.

Steve & Jean were the perfect hosts! The cottage is completely private the aspect from every window is fabulous. Country side views across the fields, dry stone walls etc. absolutely wonderful views. The garden is extremely secure and plentiful for our dog to wander with no worries. An absolute piece haven for those who wish to escape from the humdrum of suburban life and explore the area. The wildlife in abundance having seen Red Kites, Woodpeckers, Buzzards. Stags etc. All from the doorstep of the lodge! Absolutely fabulous and will definitely be returning as soon as possible! Missing it already writing this. Off lead walks for dogs plentiful in the area...too numerous to mention but Galloway Forest (Yellow Trail) a must for dog walkers. 4G access if you want to be in touch with urban life but for us it was just magical to get away from all of that.

Cosy, spacious well equipped cottage. Great location for walks with Kilder Forest being just a few miles drive away. Enclosed garden makes it very dog friendly. Plenty of wild life seen on the doorstep; including a red quarrel. Thanks Jean and Steve for the milk; flowers and delicious scones on arrival. Lovely host, full of local knowledge and on hand if required.

The cottage itself is clean and well equipped. The scones on arrival were delicious! Jean and Steve are the perfect hosts and are managing the Covid guidelines well.

A lovely, relaxing, cosy cottage away from it all.
A lovely, relaxing, cosy cottage away from it all. But come prepared as no shops locally. A great base for exploring the lovely scenery. Many walks for all abilities and not that far from some great beaches. Definitely a get away from it all location. Seeing fox, woodpecker, red squirrel and other birds in the garden was nice. Definitely like to return.

Loved this cottage.
Loved this cottage. Countryside views all around. Well equipped with everything you need for a home from home. As others have said double bed is uncomfortable. That’s the only negative.
