Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are 3 steps in the garden.. This spacious holiday cottage, which adjoins the owner’s property, is accessed through its own separate rear entrance and is located in the quiet village of Balfron. Situated in very private grounds along a quiet lane, it has uninterrupted views of the Campsie and Fintry Hills.

Located on the edge of Scotland’s first National Park and with Loch Lomond and the majesty of Ben Lomond close by the area is staggeringly beautiful. A huge variety of outdoor activities are on offer including scenic walks for all abilities; golf with a number of top class venues within easy travelling distance, and fishing. Loch Lomond offers a wide range of water sports to suit all ages including sailing, canoeing , paddle boarding and water skiing. Balfron has an 18 hole golf course.

The historic city of Stirling, with its castle, battlefields and monuments, is half an hour’s drive away; Glasgow, the city of culture and entertainment can be reached within the hour and Edinburgh is a 90 minutes drive.

Balfron is a well serviced village with local shops and amenities including a health centre, dental practice, fuel and recharging station.

A beautiful cottage with everything we needed for our holiday. The owner had some lovely little extra touches which made it feel so special. A welcome pack of fresh bread, butter, milk, shortbread, fruit and chocolates were very much appreciated. There were also little cases of flowers throughout which was really lovely. Capelrig is an idyllic holiday cottage which is located on the outskirts of Balfron and is not overlooked. Jeanette and David who live in part of the property are unobtrusive hosts but always helpful with advice if asked. The main feature of the cottage are the extensive beautiful gardens surrounding the property. Capelrig has its own private section of garden, ideal for relaxing when the weather is good. The interior of the property is thoughtfully furnished and spotlessly clean. The cottage is ideally situated for visiting the Trossachs area. All the main places of interest are well within one hours drive. There are numerous good restaurants in the local area along with a Coop store and newsagent / post office. This was the first time my wife and I have stayed in a cottage as opposed to a hotel on holiday.We weren't sure what to expect. The cottage was immaculate. It actually looked better on arrival than it did in the pictures on the website. Our hosts were fabulous. We were given total privacy but knew that if there was anything that we needed we simply had to ask. Our hosts had gone the extra mile to make our stay perfect. The cottage is in the perfect location for anyone who enjoys stunning views and easy access to Lochside walks. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and would definitely return. This is the BEST, cottage we have ever stayed in.

This is the BEST, cottage we have ever stayed in. Stayed there for a week, 1:6:19 - 8:6:19. So happy with our choice of cottage. It was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed and more. First class bedding and towels. All the extras that Jeanette had provided were a lovely treat. The cottage was well maintained and lovely and clean.
