Relax in front of the wood burner in the spacious living room, enjoy the splendid views from the breakfast table in the lovely beamed kitchen/dining room as you plan your day, or watch birds of prey soar overhead in the delightful enclosed lawned rear garden. There are walks from the door, with the nearest pub being along the lane in Penmachno, just under 2 miles away.
Climb up into the hills in this quiet part of the Snowdonia National Park, and enjoy spectacular views across the mountain ranges. Bring your bikes and enjoy the amazing Dolen Machno or Dolen Eryri mountain bike trails, or you can hire them in nearby Betws-y-Coed, the Gateway to Snowdonia, which also has a great range of shops, historic churches and a miniature railway. Despite being in a rural location, you can hop on the little bus which passes the door six times a day to the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno. With its pier, the famous Great Orme’s Head, which has the UK’s only cable operated street tramway, the UK’s longest cable car ride and the Great Orme Bronze Age Copper Mines, Llandudno is within easy reach and is well-worth a visit.
As well as being a hub for mountain biking, North Wales has established itself as a world class centre for exciting adrenaline activities. Why not pop along to Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog and have a go on the world’s fastest zip wire, or bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern at Bounce Below? Catch a wave (or just a coffee) at the amazing Surf Snowdonia at Dolgarrog – the only artificial surfing lagoon in the UK! If that all sounds too energetic then relax and enjoy a trip behind a narrow gauge steam engine on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, where you can enjoy refreshments in your seat as the train takes you on a spectacular journey through the Welsh countryside with a new vista opening up at every turn. Beach 21 miles. Shop and pub 2 miles.

outstanding cottage in the heart of Snowdonia
we absolutely loved this cottage. It was well suited to our needs with spacious bedrooms and a lovely bathroom. The downstairs lounge was comfy and the log fire was a bonus. My two daughters of 20 and 18 found everything to their liking and felt this cottage suited all our needs. A little tip though that if you put the sat nav post code on it may take you well past where the cottage is actually situated. If you pass a red post box on the bend then youve come too far. (we came through via Betwys y Coed). Highlights were of course Climbing snowdon though sadly we only got hree quarters of the way due to heavy snow up on the high mountains. Llandudno was amazing - especially the Great Orme country walk; Llyn Elsi in Betyws y Coed was a little steep climb at first but well worth it to see the lake's splendour. We also loved the easy walk round Llyn Craffnant with Mount Snowdon rising above us. All in all this cottage is a great base in which to explore Snowdonia and its comfy and cosy with everything provided for our needs.
