Ty Isaf (meaning ‘lower house’), is situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park, just outside the Carmarthenshire village of Trapp. There are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and Carreg Cennen Castle from the cottage grounds. This beautiful cottage has been luxuriously converted into an attractive holiday home and is just a stone’s throw from Carreg Cennen Castle which was listed by The Times in their top 20 walks within the UK.
From the terrace at the front of the cottage, you enter via the sleek kitchen, which leads two steps to the open plan living/dining area, with French doors out onto the rear patio and enclosed garden. The beams and high ceiling give a lovely light feel to the space and the stunning mezzanine bedroom with kingsize bed and TV overlooks the living room. There’s an additional bedroom on the ground floor with a zip-and-link six-foot bed. The spacious and well-appointed ground-floor bathroom offers a Jacuzzi bath and a double-size walk-in shower cubicle. The cottage has super-fast fibre broadband, and outside there is a store with heating, perfect for keeping walking gear and boots dry and warm, and space for bikes too.
Glynhir Golf Club is 2½ miles away, and the town of Llandeilo, 3 miles away, has a great selection of restaurants, cafés and pubs as well as a varied selection of lovely independent shops, including a famous award-winning chocolatier also selling exquisite homemade ice cream, as well as the very well known deli. The town holds various events throughout the year, including a music festival, jazz festival and the unique Festival of Senses in November. On the edge of the town, why not visit Dinefwr Castle, the lovely National Trust Dinefwr Park and Gothic Newton House?
Carmarthenshire is abundant with historical monuments, wonders of nature and fantastic beaches. Travel over breathtaking mountains and lose yourself in the solitude of the vast countryside.
