About the host

Hosted by Owner/Manager

Host profile image
I love to travel and to host world travelers and to see the world through their eyes. I have children and pets and work at home as a financial planner. I'm a pretty good cook, and enjoy music, the arts and the outdoors. As a host, I go the extra mile to make my guests feel welcome. My motto is to always pay it forward.

Why they chose this property

This A-frame cabin has been through a recent remodel complete with an iconic new green metal roof. The property provides a plenty of room on 1/2 an acre which includes a spacious fenced upper backyard area for young children and pets to play. This home is nestled in Kentwood, one of Julian's most family-friendly and peaceful neighborhoods about 1/2 mile from the Julian fire station and Julian Trading Post off Hwy 79 and about 1-1/2 mile from Main Street.
It boasts a spacious master bedroom in the upper loft area overlooking the main living area with vaulted pine tongue and groove walls. The main level has an open floor plan which has a defined well stocked grourmet kitchen area, living room, dining and game table nooks with a wood burning stove as the centerpiece. A pool table with a ping pong topper is set up in the lower level game room with a portable BBQ propane grill just outside the French doors for guests to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

This property is located in a mountain community that is a historic gold mining town founded over 150 years ago which enjoys the four seasons. One can experience snow in a winter wonderland, enjoy spring blooms of wild flower and daffodils, partake in summer activities fishing at Lake Cuyamaca, hiking the Volcan Mountains or Mount Laguna and star gazing in Julian's official dark sky community and marvel at the fall colors as the leaves turn brilliant shades. Adults can enjoy the local Julian wineries, cideries and breweries while the kids and the young at heart can pet local farm animals and reptiles, rock climb, go ax throwing and target practice with bows & arrows in addition to horseback riding and gold mining. All can enjoy Julian's famous apple pies and apple cider. While there is satellite internet available, guests have an opportunity to disconnect from being tethered to devices to enjoy the fresh mountain air, local wild life and beautiful views of Imperial Valley nearby.
