A traditional detached thatched cottage in the village of Osmington that sleeps four people in two bedrooms.

Lychgate Cottage is a charming thatched detached two bedroom cottage in the village of Osmington in Dorset. The property has a full fitted light and airy kitchen and has the bonus of two sitting rooms, one with a dining area and the other has patio doors leading to the patio garden with furniture. Upstairs there is 1 x king-size and 1 x twin bedrooms and a family bathroom. Lychgate cottage in Osmington village is a beautiful thatched cottage for your coastal break. Please note; the path leading to the cottage is rocky and uneven. The property has a typical narrow staircase. Both of these will need to be considered when booking this property especially for those with mobility issues.
Note: Please note gardener will attend property every two weeks between March - Oct and access will be required to garden.

Town: Osmington village, is situated on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth wher you will find an glorious beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. A short drive will see you reach a local convenience store at Preston. Weymouth offers a larger variety of shopping, eating and entertainment choices.

Lovely property,lounge carpet stained and needed cleaning.On stripping our bed on departure the mattress topper was badly stained.For longer stays a washing machine is a must.

Knus huis op leuke plek

Heel erg leuk huis op een goede plek om the Jurrasic coast te ontdekken. Van alle gemakken voorzien en prachtig onderhouden tuin. Wel moet worden opgemerkt dat de druk op de douche matig was maar dat Sykes er alles aan gedaan heeft om het op te lossen, wat tijdens ons bedrijf nog niet gelukt was. Ik heb er vertouwen in dat dit op korte termijn is opgelost Het huis is een aanrader voor een relaxe vakantie in het heerlijke Engeland van wandelen en pubs.

Beautiful cottage clean and fresh

We loved our stay at Lychgate Cottage, the garden was very pretty, the property had a great layout a very big master bedroom and nice twin room, it was clean and fresh. There is a downstairs toilet and bath upstairs, remember to press the "boost" button when you have finished your shower or the water won't be hot for the next one. the kitchen was lovely, the TV was great don't forget to bring your own TV app passwords with you. The garden is enclosed as advertised but not escape proof depending on the dogs/children you have. Parking was not a problem for us but we can see why others had problems, you just have to park further down the road and walk. We parked up at the church when we were loading / unloading although you are not supposed to do this. The locals use the parking at the front of the church eventhough there are "church only" parking signs. Probably not great if you have serious mobility problems as its only and you have to duck and turn to get up the stairs and also getting into the bath is a yoga move but this did not affect us and we had a great time and were very sad to leave.
