Cosy for two yet comfortable for up to four people. SMOKE-FREE including INSIDE AND ALL OUTDOOR AREAS. The location and setting is perfect for experiencing the natural beauty of Hyams Beach and exploring Jervis Bay.

Situated at the top of Bayview Avenue, backing onto bushland Bowerbird Cottage Apartment is just a gentle, straight 200m stroll to the pristine soft, white sand of Hyams Beach - the jewel of Jervis Bay. The Bay is home to a pod of dolphins which can often be seen during the day from the beach.

The local village hub of Cooked Goose Cafe and General Store is also only a gentle 5 minutes walk and the various walking trails are also easily accessible.

Bowerbird Cottage Apartment invites guests of all ages - from the young to the young-at-heart - to stay, play, rest and relax. Being single-level, and on the ground floor it is easy and convenient to access - especially welcome when bringing in the luggage!

Freshly made beds beckon on arrival - ready should a power-nap be needed before heading to the beach! All bedding and bed linen is included.

Complimentary ground coffee, herbal teas - for those needing a treat after visiting the beach or walking the myriad of nature trails - are provided.

While exploring the local area there is a picnic basket with picnicware and a range of bbq tools - select from the numerous sites available to enjoy dining in the great outdoors.

Or simply unwind on the covered veranda - watching the local birdlife, reading from the selection of books, playing board games. Lawn games for all ages are provided to play in the garden or at the beach.

So stay and create new memories to cherish - catch up, chill out, contemplate, cosy up and connect with family, friends and loved ones. Bliss....


FEATURES AND FACILITIES

The OPEN PLAN KITCHEN, DINING and LOUNGE opens onto the large, COVERED DECK - that is both RAILED AND GATED - overlooking the garden. A separate, COVERED BBQ AREA with an electric bbq - so easy to operate and clean - again overlooking the garden, is ideal for al fresco dining. Please note that access to the bbq and garden is via several uneven steps.

The GARDEN is mainly lawned - encouraging visits by the local kangaroos which often stop by of an evening. There is also a BIRD TABLE which is topped up daily and brings many colourful visitors. Lawn games are provided - suitable for both children and adults.

The master bedroom contains a king-size bed.The TV lounge linking between the bathroom at one end and the master bedroom at the other.

The BATHROOM has a shower, vanity with storage, a toilet, and a FRONT-LOADING WASHING MACHINE. Both QUALITY TOILET PAPER and LAUNDRY DETERGENT are provided.

To ensure your maximum comfort and privacy although we - Nick and Tracy - the hosts and owners - live in the upstairs apartment - Bowerbird Cottage Apartment is fully self-contained with a separate entrance, outdoor areas, parking space and facilities.

Peaceful and relaxing

We stayed for three nights in this very tranquil location a very short walk from Hyams beach. Our hosts Tracy and Nick were lovely, accommodating and very knowledgeable. We took there recommendations on places to visit and it made our stay the more enjoyable.

Hidden Gem

From booking to checking out the whole experience at Bowerbird Cottage Apartment, was a delight. Hidden away from the main craziness of hyman's beach but still in an easy 10 minutes walking distance, if you looking for a location to chill out and still hear the ocean and not the thousands of beach goers I highly recommend The Bower Bird Cottage.

Ideal apartment in perfect lcoation

The apartment is linked to the main house, but totally separate from it, and thus very private. It was the ideal location for our very short visit to Hyams Beach, easy walking distance from the beach. The lock box enabled us to check in immediately after our arrival in the area. Very comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of books to read - not that we needed them. It all made for a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

We loved our stay. Bowerbird Cottage Apartment was exactly as listed - very comfortable and clean with a delightful balcony for dining. We felt nestled in the bush and enjoyed the chorus of bird song. The best thing was proximity to the world-famous Hyams Beach: an easy stroll for an early morning swim (particularly no hassles about finding a park!). We’ll definitely be back!

Simple Accommodation

The hosts of Bowerbird were very approachable before and throughout our stay. The apartment is located a short walk from Hyam's beach tucked away in a quiet cul de sac. We are a family of 4 with two little ones and unfortunately the accommodation did not suit our desires or needs for a getaway simply because of the required precautions and need for functionality with 2 little ones. I The second bedroom is located off of the living area divided by a curtain- that made it difficult for us to find time for ourselves to relax while the twins were asleep. Although advertised for kids, it's not baby proofed requiring us constantly to supervise and block areas off from heaters, kitchen items . . . But the high chair was helpful! The tub was gone, sadly. My selling point for this accommodation . . . Recent renos took it away :( Although warned upon arrival, the owners dog was very disruptive for our family at night. The owners were very kind to allow for an extended check out time for our 1 year old twins to sleep. Very helpful for our journey! Master bed is comfy! This is a great simplistic accommodation for a couple for a getaway! Enjoy those electric blankets in winter!!! But most of all enjoy the beautiful nearby beach knowing that your personal items are safe with very kind hosts just a hop, skip, and jump up the road.

Excellent location, very clean

My family and I enjoyed a three-day getaway in this fabulous house! The house was less than 5 min walk to the beach but it was still located in a private area so we still enjoyed the quietness of the surrounding. The owners were very helpful and friendly and sent lots of information prior to our arrival about the area like good restos/cafes shops, direction to their place. We will definitely recommend this to friends who are planning to go to Hyams. And of course, we will rent this place again when we visit Hyams again.

Homey Feel

My partner and I stayed 2 nights. Due the the apartment being quite large for just 2 people we were given a reduced price without even asking! The apartment has everything you'd need in terms of kitchen wares, we didn't need anything except foil/gladwrap for what we cooked. There was definitely a noticeable effort put into making it feel as homey as possible. The location was amazing! Less than 5 mins walk from hyams beach. Tracy is wonderful and happy to accommodate as best as she can; providing plenty of info about where the best places to get groceries, takeaway and sight-see are. The only negative is that the hot water struggled to keep up with two people. Otherwise, it was great! Would recommend to anyone.

Home away from home

Tracy and Nick are the most friendly and helpful people u will ever meet. Booked it over the weekend fri to Sunday The communication with Tracy was fantastic as well as going out of her way to find the perfect seafood restaurant for my 40th birthday . Unfortunately everything was booked out due to a triathlon on that weekend. But we did enjoy our stay House was warm and cosy and very very clean.nosie level from surrounding was very minimal. They even had a toy Binfor our son and she even put books out for him to read as well is a great selection of DVDs for the little one. It's a personal things and touches that count for us and having a great stay. Will definitely use this place again if we are ever down that way and we cannot recommend it enough for somebody that wants to stay with the homely feel and very welcoming. We had a perfect weekend with our three young children. The apartment was more spacious than we anticipated, and it was good to be set back from the beach as we didn't need to jostle for parking. Everything went smoothly and everything worked. Having plenty of loo rolls and dishwasher and laundry powder was so helpful, a lot of other of places don't provide much in the way of consumables.

Great place - friendly owners

Two friends and I stayed Mulberry Bush apartment. It was very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and only 5 minutes walk to Hyam's Beach. Tracy, the owner was very friendly and accommodating. We missed out on our first night of accommodation because of a severe storm (we didn't want to drive through it) and so Tracy offered us a late checkout so we could have a full weekend to enjoy the beach.

Comfortable home away from home

My sons and I had a very comfortable stay at Mulberry Bush. I loved the big king-sized bed, and there were little details that made it seem like home, such as the many throws and extra cushions, and the dvds. And then there were beachy extras such as the outdoor shower to wash off sand and salt from the beach. We found that it was just the right distance from the beach for swimming 3 times a day, and very quiet.

Perfect holiday

Mulberry bush apartment was perfect for our family, Super comfy beds, cozy lounge room, everything is clean and gorgeously decorated, awesome undercover outdoor area with friendly wildlife to feed. Tracy is so lovely and helpful and makes the stay extra special. Hearing the waves as you're going to sleep couldn't be more relaxing and finally the most beautiful beach in the world a leisurely stroll down the road. Perfection! Highly recommend.

Pure relaxation at its best!

We have just returned from a lovely 10 day holiday at Hyams Beach (January 2016) where we stayed at Mulberry Bush Apartment. If you are looking for relaxation and rejuvenation, this is the place to be. We loved watching the birds in the garden and sitting on the balcony surrounded by trees. Nick and Tracy were fabulous hosts with a font of information which we found so worthwhile. The property is spotless and we could find no fault or want for anything. There were lots of personal touches too which was so appreciated. With a short walk to the beach, the position is perfect. We will definitely consider making a return trip! Thank you!

Relax & Nature for our lovely holiday.

Cosy apartment with the beach just down the road

My husband and I had a really great stay at Mulberry Bush Apartment. The apartment had everything we needed and we really couldn't fault anything. The weather during our time at Hyams Beach wasn't great but we were able to eat at some really great places thanks to Tracy's recommendations. Tracy's hospitality was second to none and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay at Mulberry Bush Apartment when we do visit Hyams Beach again.

Great Place to stay

Thanks to Tracy & Nick for providing a fully furnished apartment to such an extent that there are DVDS, books board games & a selection of toys for toddlers. 3 beds one accessed thro' another so ideal for keeping eye on the little ones. Ideal for family group or 2 couples. Only had 2nights nut made very welcome by the owners.

Quiet relaxing stay

We visited as part of the long weekend. It was a relaxing stay. The weather was fantastic. The beach is lovely. Hyams beach only has one store which is packed at the weekend. Recommend whale watching nearby and walks.
