EXCURSIONS: Local tour operators offer a wide variety of excursions, including whale watching, deep sea fishing, white water rafting, mountain biking, and a a jeep safari that includes a 28 level waterfall where you can climb up the last 8 cascades.

AIRPORTS: The closest is Puerto Plata (POP) but Santiago (STI) is an option. Taxis can be arranged in advance for both.

Overall a very nice stay.

Location is very nice and quiet but still just a few blocks from downtown. As long as you don't have physical limitations. you will not need a car or taxi. Ocean view is limited so I would not go there for that. There is no elevator and lots of stairs so if you have physical limitations keep that in mind when choosing this location and room. Guards are there 24/7 and very nice. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

Well it’s impossible to watch a movie in the bedroom or enjoy the WiFi Because its slow very, very slow, and I end up paying 120 for Electricity for about 10 days, I have stay in Neptuno before in different units Never was I charge any Electricity and in other places I stay it was less that 30 dollars. And most places after 6 or 7 days stay they offer complementary cleaning, Non was offer. Neptuno is great but that unit the owner are robbing people the place is ok 32 inches tv in a bedroom is ancient the living room tv is dying maybe another 6 more months it’s completely dead. No physical damage tv is just old.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay didn't meet your expectations. Internet service in the Caribbean can sometimes be slower than what guests are used to in larger cities, but we do our best to provide a reliable connection for everyday use. We completed some trouble shooting and the router had to be reset. We will be installing a repeater which will ensure the wifi reaches the bedrooms. As noted in our listing, electricity is billed separately, which is common practice in Dominican. Regarding the TV, the unit does include a smaller television, and we will consider upgrading in the future to improve the guest experience. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us continue to improve, and we hope you still enjoyed the beauty and charm of the area during your stay. El Neptuno

Good stay in Sosua

The place is very nice. The complex seems to be very well run and maintained. We have been to the Dominican Republic 47 times and very often stay in Sosua. The bad marks I am giving have to do with the bad experience trying to communicate with the owner. When it gets close to our arrival date, we usually get information on how to access the rental. Nothing was coming so we tried several times sending messages through the VRBO site and several times calling on the owner's phone number. Never any responses. We traveled to the DR on our check-in day being very nervous that there would be big problems. Then the taxi driver, from the airport, had a very hard time finding the place. There was an address, but no one knew who the apartment owner was. Finally, we found someone that new the correct place. The listing should give the name of the complex and the phone number of the management office. However, now that we know where it is, we would probably stay there again.

Overall great stay.

It was a great place to be. Close to the beach. Spacious for 2 guest. No a/c in one of the rooms was a problem due to how hot the weather is. Some dishes were dirty. Property manager was delightful but also borderline harassing. I come to the country to relax and enjoy myself. Not being harassed with made a rules the day we come because we are young black Americans. Treat your guest better. Security were pleasant as well. Overall had a good stay and would like to return in the next 2 months.

Happy to know that Mark wants to return and he will be welcomed back. But next time he should book an apartment with AC in both bedrooms. Some apartments have AC in living room and both bedrooms, some just in the 2 bedrooms. Mark picked the only apartment with AC in the living room and master bedroom. Important to read the property descriptions before booking any apartment. If he contacts us before he books we can help him find which apartments best meet his needs. This was our first rental since the airport opened about 10 days previous and was at the same time as a 45 day state of emergency was declared. We are still trying to adjust to covid-19 situation here and some rules are evolving. By the time Mark returns in 2 months we expect to be normalized inside El Neptuno even though it may still be far from normal outside. It is a little confusing for us now, too. It is important for all renters to understand that just because you are tired of dealing with the virus at home doesn't mean you will escape it when you come to the Dominican Republic.. For example, this country is very strict about wearing masks everywhere and we at El Neptuno are,. too. I am sure when Mark and his buddy return in two months they will come with more than one mask between the two of them. Looking forward to Mark's return in two months

We are located in a quiet, upscale neighborhood only 5 minute walk from Sosua Beach and the town. Hard to believe we are so close to all the activities in Sosua yet be so separated with respect to sight and sound.

What makes this property unique

You can do so much without need of a car or a taxi. Only a few minutes walk away are 2 beaches, a gym, casino, restaurants and bars, museum, art gallery, scuba and snorkeling, sailing a Top Cat catamaran, paddling in Sosua Bay in a crystal clear kayak that lets you see what is below, sport bars, pharmacies and supermarkets.
