Vermin in the unit & below the accomodation standard expected

The unit is sub standard, with very dated decor & ammenities Sorry but the unit needs a complete refurbish, to be rented out to customers We also experienced RATS eating our potato chips & disturbing us during the night The staff were Great & agreed to move us, but we should not have experienced this problem in the first place - SORRY

Hi Lynette, I am very saddened by this review. We had explained the apartment has 3 bookings left and then it closes for the full renovation. It had been partly renovated after cyclone Debbie 5 years ago and as you can see from previous reviews not a 1 star property. And as you mentioned we upgraded you to a property that was recently fully renovated with extras within 24hrs of check in. Regarding the "rats". Hamilton Island does not have rats. They are native bush mice and often come in when food scraps are left out or if the island has had a lot of rain. It is very unfortunate the first night of your stay was disturbed and we hope you did enjoy the island and activities while you were here.
