Nestled on almost four acres of wooded bliss is one of the few homes in the territory that has just as much outdoor living as indoor living!

The welcoming three-season porch leads to a custom fire pit area, upper deck area with gas grill and wooden picnic table, lower deck with screened-in porch with outdoor sectional sofa, and the HOT TUB! The wooded view provides the PERFECT back drop for the large tub, which seats 6-8.

Inside you’ll find a well-appointed kitchen connected to the cozy and warm great room which is completely surrounded by windows and includes a fireplace and large screen television. The three bedrooms include a kids bunk room with a single-single and double (sleeping four) a master suite with queen bed with large window seat (making it the perfect place to read the perfect book), and a third bedroom with an open sleeper sofa, full mattress, and large screen television. Two of the bathrooms include both a shower and large whirlpool tub!

The home is approximately one mile from the Owners Club (fitness room, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, game room, and more), Shenandoah Riding Stables, Lake Galena, and the General Golf Course, making it the perfect location in the Territory. Historic Downtown Galena and Chestnut Mountain (for winter skiing), are just ten minutes away!

Great Weekend Trip!!

We throughly enjoyed our time in Galena at this property. The hosts are kind, responsive, and have created a space where you instantly feel right at home. We also appreciated the use of the Owner’s Club amenities while staying at the home. If staying in Galena, we will definitely look to stay here again!

Nice place for great memories

We had a great time at this cabin! We got everything we needed, beautiful views, clean, truly cozy and inviting, nice trail and enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi and fire pit. Sally was always available to answer any questions promptly. We took great memories with us!

Peaceful Retreat

We had a half of week between school ending and summer camp starting so we decided to get away with our 5 year old twins. The back deck was perfection. We loved the hot tub, back deck, and fire pit and the kids adored the pool at the owners club. Would definitely stay again.

Calming Forest Retreat

The home was comfortable and private, secluded in the woods. The amenities were as listed, and generous. We enjoyed the hot tub, had some fires in the fire pit outside, and had cocktails on the porch in the woods. Galena is minutes away and the perfect tourist town. We felt our stay was in a home away from home! We would consider staying again. Thanks to our hosts!

30th Birthday

Some friends and I rented the place for my 30th birthday celebration and couldn’t be happier with our decision. The listing was exactly as it was advertised (and then some) and was very clean and welcoming. Checking in was as simple as reading the information that was emailed to me. We will most definitely be back.

Better than I imagined!

Paul and Sally’s property is absolutely stunning. The listing photos do not do the scenery justice. We stayed here for my sister’s bachelorette party, and it was absolutely perfect! The house is only a short drive from downtown Galena, which is definitely a place you want to visit! The “treehouse” scenery made our stay even more magical. Paul and Sally were very quick with their communication and just as kind as could be. Thank you both for such a wonderful stay!

Stayed for a girls weekend. The property suited our needs, but could use some updating and repair. Decking had nail heads exposed, one toilet was leaking, we could not get the radio or tv to work..lots of remote controls..and some areas with visible dust. The property owners, however, were lovely, and answered all inquiries promptly. Despite the cosmetic concerns, our stay was great, and sleeping arrangements were perfect. Enjoyed coffee in the lower screened in patio.

Cleanliness

The location of the property was amazing. The cleanliness of the house was horrific. There were cobwebs on the walls, the carpet was filthy, and the couch had stains. The towel rack in master was broken. The abundance of decorations and plants was distracting. We love Galena and and the territory, but this was not one of the better homes we have stayed in. For the money paid, this was unsatisfactory.

Not what we expected

I knew pulling into the drive this house was not cared for. The outside is unkept and it continues inside. This property needs a lot of work before anyone should stay here. We left early and the owners did work us and made the refund process simple. The house needs major cleaning and decluttering. And broken items repaired.

Disappointed with the smell and cleanliness

Stayed here for my birthday and it was not clean. There was a musty cigarette smoke smell throughout the entire house. The owner must have smoked in the house just before renting it to me. Candles couldn’t even help the smell. I felt like we paid too much money for what we got. I actually got sick from staying here.

Excellent Christmas Gathering Place

My girlfriend, her mother, and my parents (and our dog!) stayed here for a few days around Christmas. The kitchen and living room were a perfect size for making dinners and spending time together. The view was beautiful, and there was also plenty of entertainment inside (plenty of TV channels - we even caught the best Christmas movie ever, Die Hard). My fiance and I braved the cold to use the hot tub each night, but we didn't use the firepit or grill. There seemed to be plenty of room to use that. Plenty of cooking equipment and the towels, bedding, etc. that we needed. It was the perfect size for us to spend time together but also have some privacy. Also very close to Galena, which was fun to visit as a family. I actually proposed on Christmas morning out on the deck, and couldn't have asked for a better venue. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Fantastic weekend getaway at the Talisman Treehouse!

Quaint, clean, and cozy retreat home nestled in the woods of beautiful Galena. With plenty of amenities, including an outdoor jacuzzi, several decks and porches, loaded smart TV, and others, we only regretted not having stayed the entire week….maybe next time.

Tucked among the trees

What a wonderful home - tucked up in the trees everywhere you look. So much to enjoy with the hot tub, fire pit, outdoor screened room, lounge chairs and more. Inside you will find plenty of comfy cozy places to sit and take in the view. Kitchen well stocked too. What a great place, and the hosts were so easy to work with. Love this home!

Relaxing Retreat!

We are so glad we found this wonderful home for our family vacation. Sally was very responsive to any questions we had, and helped us when we had to reschedule our trip. The home is very cozy. My teenage son loved the cedar porch, and asked me when we could come back for another vacation. We enjoyed the beautiful family room that had walls of windows which provided the wooded forest view. Furniture in the family room was also very comfortable— many relaxing naps during our stay. The internet connection and cable television were nice features. Our two pups also enjoyed the stay and loved exploring the different levels outside. Access to the owner’s club pool was great for the warm summer days, and the owner’s facility is very close by. We are looking forward to returning!

The perfect spot for forest soaking!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! It is such a cozy cottage surrounded by trees; The fire pit and the hot tub and the living room with its big windows all make ideal use of being surrounded by nature! There’s a Japanese term, Komorebi (木漏れ日), which describes the color and feeling of “Sunshine filtering through the trees” — and at this Vrbo, you get to soak in that completely! The kitchen has plenty of room, and these are some of the most comfortable beds we have ever enjoyed! Plus, we got to enjoy a wonderful rodeo not 10 minutes away, as well as wonderful wandering, shopping and celebrating in nearby historic Galena!
