Our new Balvaird Wing is an ideal base for golfing breaks, country sporting holidays, wedding parties and short and weekend breaks. Also perfect for families as an abundance of attractions for children.

Poised above the River Tay in Perthshire, Scone Palace overlooks the routes north to the Highlands and east through Strathmore to the coast. The Grampian mountains form a distant backdrop, and across the river stands the city of Perth.

There are lots of interests for children to see and do at Scone Palace. Outdoor activities include the adventure playground and the unique ‘tartan’ Murray Star Maze. Not to mention the 100 acres of grounds and green space where children can play and burn off excess energy in a safe environment. It's why we're one of the most popular places for families to visit in Perth.
Be Robert The Bruce or the famous spider in our popular Robert The Bruce cut out in the Children's Adventure Playground (and make sure the grown-ups don't use the zip slide!).Visit our Gift Shop to pick up a Heather the Highland Cow Activity Book or buy some peanuts to feed our free-roaming peacocks.
In the Palace itself, ‘I Spy’ is a firm favourite and provides children with a fun and informative trail through the State Rooms.

Follow in the footsteps of countless kings and explore our unique collection of porcelain, ivories and French furniture.

Guests staying in the Balvaird Wing are invited to tour the Palace at their own speed, with guides available in each room to answer any questions you might have about the Palace. Outside, over 100 acres of our fabulous Perthshire grounds are waiting to be discovered. This is complimentary when the Palace is open and when closed or out of Season tickets are provided to return when the Palace is open.

Located in the West aspect of the Palace and overlooking the Parks, the Balvaird Wing has been newly refurbished offering guests 5 star, luxury accommodation. The Wing sleeps up to six guests in 3 beautifully decorated, en-suite bedrooms.

If you fancy dining out, it is only a short 10-minute taxi ride to the centre of Perth where you will find a variety of award
winning restaurants.

A relaxing outdoor space to enjoy breakfast, your own afternoon tea or a drink before dinner.

''We had an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay as some of the first guests at the Balvaird wing which is spacious, luxuriously furnished with a lot of thought having been put in to the decor and artwork on display. Great for adults too!
Our group of adults absolutely loved our stay at the Scone Palace! Starting from the lovely welcome basket we felt at home. The spaces were huge and just as described, clean, and included all of the conveniences necessary. The grounds were spectacular, with peacocks, gardens and a maze (which us adults got lost in). We received a fabulous private tour of the palace which was one of the highlights of our trip all around Scotland.

Magical!
An amazing place! To be steeped in so much history is one thing but to actually stay in the palace itself is pretty magical. The apartment was absolutely stunning and the staff were so kind and attentive. The peacocks, the Falconry, the graveyard, the Abbey and the Palace tour meant we never had the urge to leave the grounds, spending all day roaming this magnificent place. Kudos to the Murray family for preserving, in the most respectful way, the important history of this Palace and allowing us to enjoy it.
