Rivers Edge - located at Old Bar

Rivers Edge is situated on peaceful, rural, Oxley Island on the Manning River only a three hour drive from Sydney's North Shore. An area renowned for its great fishing. Private access to the Manning river is perfect for boating, fishing, waterskiing and kayaking enthusiasts. Leave your boat tied up to the jetty with floating pontoon for the duration of your stay. Relax on the expansive lawn, or verandah, enjoying the refreshing sea breeze on a balmy evening, soaking up the breathtaking panoramic views.
Unspoilt beaches are only minutes away by boat. Old Bar Beach and the great surfing beaches of Wallabi pt and Saltwater are only a short drive away.

The comfortable, well appointed 4 bedroom house and two bedroom cottage set on 10 acres, is perfect for large families looking for a place to spread out and let the kids loose, kick the football around or have a game of cricket. This is a great place for extended family get togethers.



Accommodation

Accommodation consists of a spacious, newly renovated, fully furnished, 4 bedroom House and a separately equipped, 2 bedroom cottage. While the house might be all that you need, the cottage is available at an additional cost, to accommodate larger gatherings or family members who like their own space or just need that extra bathroom. To ensure your maximum privacy and enjoyment of this superb location, The cottage is not available as a separate booking by other parties, only as additional accommodation to the house if needed when booking. The quote you receive when enquiring is for the house only. Please specify if you require the cottage and an amended quote will be sent to you.

All linen/ bath towels are provided.

The House - Maximum of 6 adults allowed and a maximum of 8 occupants in total.

The newly refurbished house consists of 4 bedrooms, separate toilet and bathroom with bath, open dining room and comfortable living area with large flat screen TV/DVD player. The modern kitchen is well equipped with all crockery, utensils, cookware and appliances, including a dishwasher, needed for your stay. There is also a newly outfitted laundry complete with washing machine and dryer.

Three bedrooms and the living area all have stunning views of the river, particularly east towards the mouth of the river which is absolutely breathtaking at sunrise!. The remaining bedroom and kitchen have an outlook over the orchard and paddocks with horses and cattle grazing. A very peaceful view.
The main house bedroom configuration is as follows:
Bedroom 1- Queen bed,
Bedroom 2- Queen bed
Bedroom 3- Single bed with roll out stay over bed underneath. Can be set up as double.
Bedroom 4 - 2 single beds.

A gas BBQ and Outdoor setting is also available for out door entertaining best positioned on the lawn looking down the mouth of the river.

The Cottage Maximum of 4 occupants.

The Cottage is also fully furnished and tastefully decorated, however is intended to be an extra to the house for extended families. It has it's own bathroom and toilet, separate living area with flat screen TV and DVD and a well equipped kitchenette.
The bedroom configuration is :
Bedroom1: Queen bed
Bedroom 2: 2 single beds
Bedroom 3: Sofa Bed

The house and cottage are set in a spacious garden, perfect for the kids to run around and play outdoor games.

Well behaved dogs happy to live outside, are allowable only with prior negotiation with owners. Conditions apply.

Things to do

Rivers Edge is the perfect location for the fishing enthusiast. Fish from the private jetty, set off exploring the best fishing spots the Manning River has to offer, in your own boat which you can moor at the jetty for the duration of your stay. Rivers Edge is just minutes by boat or a short trip by road to 'Manning Entrance State Park-' of which 'Farquhar Park' is a mecca for Beach 4WD driving and beach and estuary fishing.

There are pristine beaches within a short distance by car or boat from Rivers edge. If you are looking for patrolled beaches the beaches at Old Bar and Saltwater are patrolled during peak Holiday season. For surfing enthusiasts, the beaches at Wallabi Pt and Saltwater are highly regarded.

Explore the many other wonderful attractions that the Manning Valley has to offer from your base at Rivers Edge. Rainforest bush walks, horse riding, Kite boarding, off shore fishing charters, Sky diving and joy flights, paint ball to name a few.

The quiet sea- side town of Old Bar is where you will find everything you need to get you by for your holiday as well as having a number of restaurants, clubs and food outlets.
If you require a larger town centre, then Taree is approximately 20 minute drive west, Port Macquarie 45-50 minutes north and Forster about 30-40 minutes drive south.
