Lovely relaxing cottage, friendly and welcoming hosts. We enjoyed watching the lovely birds in the area as well as all the farm animals. The fireplace was well stocked with wood, so the cottage was nice and cosy. Very secure fencing for our dog who loved the large yard. A great area to explore. We would recommend the property to anyone interested in a farm stay.
The hosts made us feel very welcome in their gorgeous cottage, which was clean, spacious and warm with lots of (fenced) space for our dogs to play outside. Brilliant coffee and a great antique shop up the road in Deepwater. It was the perfect place to stop on the trip from Sydney to Brisbane.

Thanks Bernadette for taking the time to review our cottage and to write such positive comments about the cottage and our great village of Deepwater. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime. Thank you.
The property and area are just beautiful. The animals and Aussie land fills our soul. The cows, sheep, birds and dogs are so fun and glorious. Robyn and Steve were fabulous hosts. Can recommend staying here and exploring the local area; we took a class at The Markers Shed and did some fishing. Fossicking, another class with Richard and more fishing- we will be back.
As before, great Country hospitality and the land vistas by day complemented by the magnificent star-scapes by night were just fantastic. Many thanks again.

Home Amongst the Gumtrees......
Beautiful 3 nights spent in absolute silence, darkness and climes. Very generous hosts, the home was a real gem perfectly restored with all the mod cons. Situated amongst fruit trees, manicured gardens, wide open pastures, hills and wildlife.
If you’re looking for a farm stay then put this cottage on you must see list.
Wake up to Currawong’s, kookaburras, roosters, bleating sheep and mooing cows. Thank you Robyn and Steve.

Thanks Kerrie and Tony for your fabulous review of our cottage. We consider ourselves so fortunate to meet people such as yourselves. It was a pleasure getting to know you and your family structure. What wonderful relationships you have with each generation of your family. So glad that you had an insight into farm life on the New England tablelands. Steve, tells me that the Italian Stallion is a pretty good shot.
Hope our paths cross yet another time.
Kind regards,
Robyn & Steve.
A fantastic farm stay in northern NSW. Even in these drought-affected times, the landscape was beautiful and serene. The cottage, too, was spacious, comfortable and cozy. We spent our days watching the ewes with their lambs and searching for quartz. Evenings were spent by the wood stove. The kitchen had everything we needed, included a brand-new stove/oven (not the one pictured) and fresh eggs. The hosts could not have been more warm and welcoming - and wonderful with children. Very grateful for such amazing hospitality.

Wow Jen, Thank you so much for your glowing comments. I was super impressed with your children especially how interested they were in the farm and farm routine. Great to see them exploring outdoors. You should be proud of them. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us.
Our stay at Oakhurst was wonderful. Robyn and Steve were so welcoming. Their restoration of the cottage is amazing, making it spacious, cosy and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and more.
The verandas with their ample comfortable furniture make for great relaxation reading or simply taking in the beautiful views.
Walks on the property are easy and enjoyable. Very dog friendly with a big yard that is securely fenced. Overall a top place to chill.
and more.
Perfect farm cottage accomodation. Whether your passing through the region for one night or looking for a long weekend getaway with your family. You will not be disappointed with the accomodation or the lovely host.
Excellent cottage, well done up and brilliant for pets. Just bring food and don’t expect phone reception. Listen to the birds from the comfort of the verandah chairs. No noisy neighbours. No traffic.

Wow, thanks for your great review. Thanks for highlighting the phone reception issue. Hope to see you back again.
We stayed for just one night and had a great time. Comfy bed and good heating (it was lightly snowing outside). Will return when the weather’s a little warmer and explore a bit. Really appreciated being able to have our dog inside with us.
This was a beautiful experience like stepping back in time enjoying the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of country life style, would highly recommend for someone looking for something different.
Comfortable alternative to a motel in Glen Innes or Tenterfield. The cottage is only a short drive from the highway but far enough to be very peaceful. We enjoyed eating on the verandah and a farm walk in the morning.
Lovely hosts, historic cottage with beautiful garden and fascinating farm. Kids especially loved the dogs, puppies, hens, chicks plus the sheep and cows.
Thank you Robyn and Steve for a lovely stay. I was very comfortable here and spent most of my time reading my book and sleeping. I just love the setting and old world garden.
Peace & tranquility. Hosts were excellent, always available if needed but gave you space. Freedom to walk around the property & close enough to towns for a quick visit. Excellent for our fur babies too.
The property is an old renovated cottage on a farm. It is several kilometres from the large towns of Glen Innes and Tenterfield, but the small town of Deepwater is only about a 10 minute drive away and has a pub and grocery store. The house is comfortable and nicely set up. Hosts Steve and Robyn were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay.
