About this property

COTTAGE ON RYE - Secluded, close to beach & pet friendly

Cottage on Rye is 150m from the calm waters of the Tyrone Foreshore and a 15 minute beach walk to the Blairgowrie Village.

Our luxuriously appointed, peaceful and private holiday home has been created to accommodate small families, couples or small groups of friends to enjoy. We also invite you to bring your furry family members who will enjoy the large backyard and beach walks that provide excellent opportunities to chase seagulls.

Behind the privacy of the sliding gate you will find a covered outdoor lounge area suitable for long chats, coffee, reading…and wine o’clock.

You might also find the driveway suitable for tennis ball cricket making sure you adhere to the house rules where over the fence is six and out and hitting windows is banned!

Continue around to the back of the house and you will discover an expansive deck with a nine piece outdoor setting and an awesome Weber barbecue overlooking a large backyard and your own personal backyard beach box – all set and ready for your enjoyment.

Step inside the front door to the main living area that we know you will enjoy. From the white leather couch you can sit back and relax after your day’s activities with a 60” TV at your command. No matter how the weather is outside, you will be kept comfortable either by aircon or the romantic electric fireplace.

Bring out your inner Masterchef in our fully equipped kitchen complete with cookware, utensils, quality appliances, large fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Set the dining table for up to six and indulge!

Tea, coffee and sugar plus all kitchen necessities are provided.

Additional cleaning costs at $30 + GST per hour will be applied for additional laundering of linen if extra beds are used and/or for pet related cleaning.

Great family getaway

We had a great stay with our 2 children and puppy. We were able to walk to the beach and to get the Blairgowrie shops. Very clean inside and out!

Perfect Retreat!

We found the cottage perfect for us! It was in a great location and the back yard was very secure so we could leave our dog when going to places we couldn't take her. We have a very relaxing stay thanks to staying in this delightful cottage! We would love to come back and bring the family!

My two teens and I had a great time at the house! It was very clean and had all the ‘mod cons’ we could need. Very well equipped kitchen. The games and beach accessories available were a bonus and were well used. We would stay again!

Great property, well maintained

We had a great stay over the NY period. The house was really well set up for a family with small kids and so close to the beach! Lots of linen towels for everyone, and the kitchen had everything we could think of. Great communication from Geoff. Will definitely consider again.

Great Christmas stay

This accommodation exceeded all expectations. The weather was a mere bonus. This is the place you walk into and it covers all you could imagine in your own holiday house. The thoughtful touches reminding you of the items you forgot but did not need to worry about. The activities/games included made for a special trip to a childhood Christmas with loads of fun. Very happy with the house and everything it had to offer. Not so happy with the garden and outdoor facilities. Grass was long and needed cutting, BBQ was full of mould and outdoor setting at the rear of the property needed a good clean

Comfortable and quiet

Very comfortable, clean house in a quiet neighbourhood. All the amenities needed to feel right at home. Large, shaded backyard for relaxing and great for our pets.

Multipurpose

We stayed as a family of four with 2 young kids. Loved our time here as a base to explore the beaches and coastline of Mornington peninsula. The area is quietly set back away from town. Some parts of the house looked like they hadn't been used for a while but other than that, well recommended.

The cottage was lovely, providing a great home away from home stay. The location is spectacular, walking distance to the beach and within a leisurely stroll from Blairgowrie Village. Perfect for a getaway

What a lovely and cosy house!!! It was very well-appointed with all the amenities to ensure our stay was pleasant and warm. The location was ideal, away from the hustle-bustle, but just a short drive to the beach and shops and cafes. The backyard was spacious and our dog loved running around there! Geoff was very pleasant and quick with his responses. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for Mornington Peninsula getaway!

Family of 4 comprising 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs. The cottage was spacious, 4 mins walk to the very calm beach that was perfect for our pup and mature dog, backyard was also spacious. Very comfortable and we would return again.

Relaxing at Rye

Facilities are excellent and we enjoyed the chance to recover from a couple of tough days on the Golf Course. We particularly enjoyed the entertainment activities supplied with our rental. Thanks alot, look forward to doing it all again.

A lovely big house. Spotless and nicely decorated. A very well equipped kitchen (only thing missing was a coffee press/stove top coffeee maker). Peaceful big garden suitable for our dog and ourselves . One street away from beach. We would definitely rent again.

Hi there from Geoff and Chris Maddern! We are a married couple living in Essendon and yes we do support the Bombers. We fell in love with the Mornington Peninsula a few years ago when we took a few trips and revisited places we had been to when we were children. We love dining out and this was one of the major attractions of the area with great restaurants and wineries to experience. We are pet lovers and that's why we allow pet's at out cottage, because a family holiday but include all members of the family!

Why they chose this property

Cottage on Rye is in the perfect location just 150 metres to the Tyrone foreshore. It is also an easy walk to the Blairgowrie shops so that's super convenient. With location a major drawcard we also loved that the cottage is quite secluded and away from the main highway.

What makes this property unique

Being so close to the beach is fantastic and we have loaded up the backyard beach box with everything needed for a beach visit - beach chairs, beach umbrella, bucket and spade etc. We have also been careful to fill the cottage with top quality furnishings and amenities. When we were renovating we were very particular about making the property pet friendly and making sure that pups can't escape! We love to cook so we made sure to have a top quality Weber barbecue available along with utensils, crockery and storage containers to make cooking away from home a fun experience. Because we like to visit the cottage ourselves, we have stocked it with tea, coffee, sugar and the usual staples along with top quality linen and towels. We have really tried to make it a home away from home!
