Beautiful home in a great setting - only wish we had time to take advantage of all that the property has to offer - would definitely choose to stay again if returning to the Remer area - kitchen had everything we needed, and the Mill Street tavern in Remer was excellent for dinner one night and only a 10 minute drive - the basement area was perfect for the dogs

Secluded, Peaceful, “Modern Rustic “. Wonderful getaway in the Minnesota northwoods. Paddled kayak’s around the lake, hiked The North Country, lounged on the dock. Yard games to enjoy!Cozy cabin for playing board games during the evening. Well equipped kitchen!Great common areas as well as space for quiet time away from the activity. No need to leave. Perfect get a way!

One of two cabins on a small and picturesque lake. The other cabin is far enough away you won’t notice. North Country Trail is just a couple of minutes away, segments headed east and west are both nice for an hour walk. We took advantage of the paddle boat, which works well but could use a replacement pedal. Cabin itself is well appointed and has a great deck with a terrific view of surrounding trees and native plantings on the property. Main floor has low beams that will require some ducking for anyone over 6-1 or so. Kitchen is very convenient. Best bedroom options are in upper loft, a nice space, and in the walkout basement. Main floor bedroom has twin beds probably best for kids; both bathrooms are good. Best town options are Walker to the west and Grand Rapids to the east, both about 40 minutes away. Go west if you want scenery; east if you want more variety in dining options. Host was geat to work with. We found it a good value for the money.

Thanks for the thorough review. The log house was built by my late husband & I and unfortunately we underestimated the logs shrinking! In hindsight we should have done a couple more logs high support beams. We are lucky to have the North Country Trail run right down the driveway. I can’t wait until next year for the super bloom on the new septic mound, it takes a year for the wildflowers to get established. We planted the Univ of MN septic wildflower mix & have transplanted in bee balm & other bee & butterfly friendly plants. Thanks for enjoying. PS. Will order new pedals for paddleboat.

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful cabin tucked away in the woods on a private lake. The fishing was excellent, and we loved the privacy and quiet surroundings. One of our favorite parts was sitting outside and watching the many hummingbirds. The owners have a container of sugar so you can refill the feeder. It was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. The owner responded right away to any questions. We will definitely be back.

We loved this cabin. It had ample room for my 5 adult family with a pretty big kitchen that was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, etc. For this single Mom, the twin beds were terribly uncomfortable but the cabin made up for it in other ways. Nice deck with plenty of lawn space for out door games like bags, etc. The croquet game needs replacing but we had fun with it anyway. It’s about people, not stuff. Had hoped to get in kayaks but time didn’t allow. Was thinking there would be a view of the lake so a bit disappointed in that but it was close enough to take part in activities off the dock. Host was accessible to me and the groundskeeper came to help me with a small issue - very nice! We would stay here again.

Private, serene, classic log cabin that is perfect for a family with kids. We really enjoyed the floating swim raft, all the water toys (four kayaks, three stand-up paddle boards, canoe, row boat, paddle/peddle boat), the fire pit, yard games, and being able to bring our dogs. We had such a wonderful stay, would definitely stay again!

Northwoods Lodge is a beautiful place on a sweet lake. We really enjoyed the dock and fishing and the kayaks and especially the dawn chorus of songbirds heard with morning coffee on the lovely big porch. Merlin heard 28 species one morning! The only disappointment was the weather was chilly so there was no swimming. The trailhead was flooded for quite a ways. I wished for some rubber boots so I could explore it more. Wild flowers were abundant. Loved seeing the lady slippers. The spiral stairs between floors are less than ideal. I kept banging my head. Overall it was a gorgeous place.

Thanks so much for your stay. The spiral stairs take some getting used too. The trail habitually gets flooded by the beavers damming up the lake. Guests do kayak over to the landing to avoid walking in water.

Great Fishing

My son and I love staying here. It is comfortable, private and has a great fishing lake.We love the various watercraft available to use.This year we tried some top water bass fishing and it was fun!The hosts are very accommodating.

Place was beautiful. Very quiet and alot of open land to play games and our dogs loved the outdoor space. Interior had plenty of space for our family of 5, everyone was able to have their own space. Having all the water toys available was amazing, we went out everyday.We will be back, the pictures dont do this place justice so beautiful.

Northwoods Cabin

We had an amazing stay. Cabin was warm and cozy- snowed every day. Our “family walks” around the lake, walking the trails with the dogs, our trip to Remer, Black Friday shopping in Grand Rapids at Glen’s Army Navy and we won at the northern lights casino. It was a wonderful family thanksgiving spot!!

A Perfect Getaway

The cabin was a perfect place to stay. Quiet and private. Cabin was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time with little worry. We took full advantage of the lake, kayaks, and paddle boards and can’t wait to make a return trip in the future.

This is our second time staying, and it was just as great this time! The house is super clean, easily fits 6 adults (with room for more), and provides tons of activities. This is the perfect place to relax and unplug. The lake is gorgeous, quiet, easy to access, and the provided paddle boards/kayaks/row boats are super fun. We enjoyed the fire pit and star gazing in the evenings. Our dog came with us this time and she had a blast too! Highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay!!

We are repeat guests. We love this place! Every year is a great experience. The property is clean and well stocked. The location is amazing. The lake only has 2 houses on it, so the lake scene is very quiet. Great place for families to kick back and relax.

Great Northwoods Getaway

Roomy, clean, and cozy cabin was very well stocked. Good fishing lake. Lots of water "toys" available. Gazebo and deck were great for evening gatherings. A wonderful spot away from city life.

Wedding/vacation

Stayed here defore with friends . Fishing trip on area lakes. Temps were good the occasional rain shower and wild life was all around. My Wife especially loved the Loons.

There is a-lot of wildlife, from deer to bear, porcupines, raccoons, swans, osprey, blue herons, bitterns and thats just a few if what luces near the house! Glad you enjoyed!
