The house is a four bedroom lodge/cottage style with all the normal comforts of home. It is perfect for a family get away or for a relaxing weekend with friends. There are 2 queen size beds, 1 double bed and 4 single beds. ( You will need to take sheets and towels with you, doonas, blankets and pillows are provided). The kitchen has a gas stove, coffee machine, water filter, microwave, fridge and dishwasher and there is a large BBQ outside.
Winter heating is provided by a wood burner fire and there are plenty of fans for summertime. There is inside seating for eight and outdoor furniture also.
Our property is completely 'off the grid', it is run by solar energy and the water is supplied by a spring fed dam and rainwater tanks, hot water and cooking is on gas tanks; because of this we do not have a washing machine and there is only one shower and toilet (please bear this in mind if you are used to taking lengthy showers:-))
Games, books and jigsaw puzzles are provided and a television with a DVD player ( the tv is not connected to an arial it is for DVD’s only). Enjoy an uncomplicated stay away from technology. The nearest shops are The General Store at the beginning of Caoura Road and then Wingello, Penrose and Bundanoon.
The property is beautiful and has great open spaces for children to run around and explore but the house itself is fenced and gated. This helps to keep the animals out at night time ( apart from the running feud we have with a wombat that thinks the garden belongs to him!!!!) and also means you can let the children outside without the risk of losing them).
The Chase has spectacular views of the Shoalhaven Gorge and is populated with kangaroos, deer and wombats. There are plenty of lovely walks around the property itself or for the more adventurous Badgery's lookout is not far away and you can access the Gorge itself. Bundanoon is a 30 minute drive away and the rest of the Southern Highlands are in easy reach. It is so beautiful you might find that you don't want to leave!! The property is an easy drive from Sydney taking about 1 and 1/2 to 2hrs depending on the traffic.

The Chase is in a stunning location - the views, the sunsets and the peace are second to none. Our dogs loved swimming in the dam and we all felt very relaxed after our holiday.
We recently had the perfect stay at The Chase. The lodgings were clean and comfortable, the property was ideally situated and surrounded by lots of local wildlife. We couldn’t have asked for a better escape for ourselves and our apartment dogs over the long weekend
Basic accommodation but spacious, cosy and well equipped. Beautiful, isolated position, stunning views with echos of lyrebirds throughout the day. A perfect venue for a family get together, fresh air and delightful solitude. Our dogs thought it was the best!
Stayed during a big weather event with cold gale force winds outside most of the time. Inside was warm and cosy with a great outlook to watch the weather by whilst chatting around the fire. Very comfortable.

a stunning place
We were totally overwhelmed at arrival - the view was just spectacular. The house was clean, spacious and bright, nothing more you can ask for. We had a great time there. Our kids were happy, our dog was over excited and joyed. There were a lot to explore around. We had a great time!
Stunning views and wonderful accommodation. Clean and comfortable, the huge welcome mat really captures the true feeling of the house. Lots of space for outdoor activities and good vantage points to see wildlife both up close and afar. Great communal space and enough bedrooms for those wanting quiet time inside. Communication was clear and timely. Very good experience.
Marie was a great host, very prompt with communication and considerate. View is incredible, house is cosy and perfect for a rural getaway. Limited reception was great to gets kids off phones and playing games. Neighbors were also lovely treating the girls to a farm adventure of feeding 100’s of sheep. Our dogs and family all enjoyed it greatly. Thank you
We spent 2016 Easter weekend at The Chase and had wonderful two nights there. I must say the location of the house is one of the best places I have visited because of its magnificent views and easy accessibility. You can just stare at the surroundings for hours without doing anything, but admiring the sincerity of nature and wild life.
House can accommodate 10 people comfortably and the kitchen was well equipped. The gas BBQ was very spacious and all the necessary utensils were available. The most interesting part was having the dinner by the bonfire, it was quite an experience.
Finally but not least thanks a lot for Marie and Grey for excellent communication and making our short vacation a memorable one.

Thank you Amila, I am really glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the lovely review:-))
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the marvellous view down to the river.
We watched sunrise, sunset and an almost full moon.......it was all so peaceful.
After all the Covid interruptions during 2020 and 2021 it was fab to be able to have everyone together at tallong. The Chase was the perfect place to accommodate the overspill. Great views, Comfortable, peaceful and clean - what more could we ask for.
We all agreed, The Chase was a little piece of country heaven and the views are simply stunning and spectacular! We had a really windy weekend, but we managed to get an outdoor fire going and toast some marshmallows with the kids... the dogs had a ball of a time too! The house is cosy and cute - we went in very aware it was off grid, so we were not disappointed at all, we were prepared for the uniqueness.... but those views... photos on here just didn’t do it justice! The views and the peace and quiet was simply amazing! We will all definitely be back again!
