Relax, explore and experience nature at Huon Bush Teepees, 50 min from Hobart
About Paul Dimmick
A passionate environmentalist and traveler, building an eco-retreat is the perfect way to blend my passions.
Paul Dimmick purchased this Campground in 2002
Why Paul Dimmick chose Ranelagh
We built the eco-retreat from scratch in an area of recovering farmland and oldgrowth forest that was about to be logged. Now we protect the natural values and share this beautiful place with guests.
What makes this Campground unique
Nature, tranquility, eco-features include composting toiets, natural water supply, wildlife without cages, bushwalking tracks, rainforest, mountaintop and waterfall. You are not just paying for somewhere to sleep but a whole, multi day eco-experience.

Great place to disconnect
I had a nourishing and peaceful time! Thank you for giving me the space to disconnect at the same time being available to answer queries. The Tipi was simple, neat and cosy. A true glamping experience.
Rainforest walk in the rain, hiking up to Mount Misery and a short trip to local shops and cafe if i needed.
Glad that we could provide you with a great glamping experience at Huon Bush Retreats.
Thanks for visiting
Wonderful area and wonderful stay . The work and efforts to make this beautiful place preserved is amazing . Thanks
Thanks for your visit. Nice that you had an extended visit so that you had time to enjoy our nature.
Maybe see you or your friends sometime in future.
Wonderful time, thank you!
Might be good to include advice about whether or not to feed the nighttime visitors (possums).
Thanks for your visit and review. Glad that you had a "...wonderful time..." at our nature retreat. Information about "...whether or not to feed the nighttime visitors..." is in the information book in each tipee, titled "Important things you need to know. Please Read".
Glad that you enjoyed the lyrebirds.
We stayed in a tipi. There's a fire to keep warm, amenities are close and clean and there's an open camp kitchen. Lots of animals visit and there's a lyrebird around, too. We went walking through the bush and wet rainforest, its a beautiful place to get close to nature.
Thanks for your visit.
Glad that you quickly adapted to the eco-facilities and remember us as a "...beautiful place to get close to nature...."
