About Peter Ferris
Born in Queensland, Australia, Peter has spent most of his time in the Sunshine state. He grew up and worked in his earlier years on various thoroughbred stables, cattle stations and stock & station agencies. Later years became a Paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service then lastly joined the construction industry at various international locations. Thuy hails from Tay Ninh province in Vietnam. While working for an NGO in Ho Chi Minh City, Thuy & Peter met while he was working in Singapore at the time. Shortly after Peters’ work took him to Thailand, Thuy moved there with him and then got married. Work again relocated Peter to the North of Vietnam where Thuy established Tweeters Coffee and Lounge to cater for the expat and local workers on various local projects, while he was working at the Nghi Son Refinery construction site. On a family holiday over Christmas to Australia in 2014 it was decided to sell up the businesses and property in Vietnam and Thailand to move to Australia. We noticed it was difficult to find suitable locations for large family gatherings and had the idea to build something that can cater for this market. We decided to choose Toowoomba Region because we both fell in love with the area, we had family close by and we felt the Region had potential for our type of business. We searched for the suitable block of land and in March, 2015 we found a 72 acre block that was ideal being on a National Highway with the most amazing scenery, wildlife and ancient untouched natural gorge. We then worked with the help of family to transform the abandoned property of 30 years and opened on the 1st of September, 2016 “Tweeters Country Getaway”.
Peter Ferris purchased this Farmhouse in 2015
Why Peter Ferris chose Glenaven
Situated on an idyllic heavily timbered 72 acres, the property’s most highlight is the ancient 85m deep gorge with amazing time-worn rock formations, creek & small caves, abundant wildlife and native flora.
