this property was ideal for 2 small younger families. Plenty of bedding, neat & tidy and everything we needed for a short stay was there. the hosts/owners were a pleasure to deal with and helped us with any questions we had. great holiday location.
Overall very nice place to stay. Comfortable. House has a warm character to it. Plenty space to sleep. Kitchen is fully equipped and pleasant experience to cook meals for family. House is good choice especially for families with small kids. Plenty of space in backyard. However the cameras in front and back of the house seemed like being watched/ invasion of privacy especially the backyard camera while spending family time in backyard. Though can understand why they are in place. Make sure to carry kitchen and bathroom toiletries since they are not provided. We had to make a run even for toilet roll which had only few sheets remaining ( spare one wasn’t kept) when we arrived which was annoying. Thankfully Drakes wasn’t far away.

Thank you for choosing to stay at Breakaway and for taking the time to leave a review.
We truly value all feedback and would like to take this opportunity to clarify a couple of points for the benefit of future guests.
To help us manage the property effectively—such as ensuring bins are placed out on time and addressing any concerns from neighbours—we have installed external security cameras. Please rest assured that these cameras are positioned only in non-communal, external areas and do not cover any private or shared spaces such as the BBQ area, where guests naturally expect privacy.
We're also sorry to hear you had difficulty locating the spare toilet paper. For future reference, it is kept in the lower cupboard of the bathroom.
Thank you once again for staying with us—we appreciate your visit and hope to welcome you back in the future.
Warm regards,
Overall accommodation was good. Number of bathrooms was inaccurate. Half a bathroom and separate toilet at best.
Salt container on kitchen counter cunningly disguised as sugar saw us both tossing our teas out 🥴. No “limited sugar and coffee” available. Beds adequate but glad it was only 2 nights.
Exactly as stated. Double and queen beds super comfortable. Loved it had a coffee machine!

A few changes to consider
One bathroom and one toilet for the number of people staying ie 5 adults was not enough - it was advertised as one and a half bathrooms so we expected perhaps another shower. The bedrooms were ok but the mattresses were not comfortable. The living area was nice. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils which was great. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Could be great with a few tweaks
Really hate writing reviews which are not 100% positive, but just couldn't manage it with this property. It was quite a reasonably priced property and we were grateful to get something when booking quite late in the year.
Firstly, there was a COVID-19 case at the property just before us, which is beyond any homeowner's control (Kim was very apologetic and money was promptly reimbursed), so our stay was put back a day due to what the owners called a 'deep clean'. Not sure what they did to deep clean the place... yes, kitchen and toilet were clean. Side table surfaces were dusty (couldn't have been cleaned), toothpaste splatter on the window above bathroom sink and shower curtain with black mold on it (as well as above the shower and in the middle bedroom on the roof). There were cobwebs everywhere (particularly in the front bedroom inside the window frames - all frames were very dirty and dusty) inside and out and we were visited by several spiders over the five nights.
The table tennis table listed in the amenities is not at the property and owners didn't respond when we asked about it. The outdoor area is stones only and very dusty and dirty - not really somewhere to relax with nibbles and a drink. We paid for linen and when we arrived there was no bed linen on the beds. The care takers were called promptly and provided bed linen for all the beds which I then proceeded to make myself. This may, of course, have been overlooked when cleaners did the 'deep clean'... There was no tea or coffee but the glad wrap, salt, pepper and oil were appreciated.
On a positive note, we did have some trouble with playing DVDs through the PS3 on the first night, and the owners were very helpful working through that with us the next day. The location is pretty good - a 700m walk to the beach on the very northern end of town. Moonta is a fantastic little town with lovely pubs, shops and restaurants. We will be back to this lovely part of the Yorke Peninsula.
I think maybe Casey and Kim might need to look at who is cleaning their place and adjust the listing to reflect the reality of the amenities at the house.
